Background: Although multifaceted control intervention actions (bundles) are highly effective in reducing the risk of device-related healthcare-associated infections (d-HAIs), no studies have explored their impact on the outcomes of kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) or the extent of risk reduction achievable through the bundle implementation.

Methods: Seven hundred ninety-eight prevalent KTRs admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) requiring invasive devices were included: 449 patients from the bundle preimplementation period and 349 from the postimplementation period. The primary outcome was mortality within 90 d of ICU admission.

Collapsing glomerulopathy (CG) has a severe course typically associated with viral infections, especially HIV and parvovirus B19, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), among other etiologies. A 35-year-old woman with recent use of a JAK inhibitor due to rheumatoid arthritis presented with a 2-week history of fever, cervical adenopathy, and facial erythema. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been associated with acute kidney injury in kidney transplant recipients by several mechanisms. The authors report a case of acute kidney allograft dysfunction in a 48-year-old patient who presented in the emergency room with anasarca and nephrotic syndrome close after mild COVID-19 and no other clinical condition. Histopathology of the allograft biopsy revealed two distinct and simultaneous kidney lesions, collapsing glomerulopathy and thrombotic microangiopathy.
