A high gene flow in populations of Amblyomma ovale ticks found in distinct fragments of Brazilian Atlantic rainforest.

The genetic structure of populations of the tick Amblyomma ovale from five distinct areas of the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest was evaluated via DNA sequencing and associated with the presence of domestic dogs acting as hosts at the edge of forest fragments. Ticks were collected from domestic dogs and from the environment between 2015 and 2017. Four collection areas were located in the surroundings and within the Serra do Mar State Park, São Paulo State (23°37'21"S, 45°24'43"W), where dogs were bimonthly monitored along 2 years using camera traps and GSM trackers.

Riparin B, a Synthetic Compound Analogue of Riparin, Inhibits the Systemic Inflammatory Response and Oxidative Stress in Mice.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive, and anti-oxidant action of Riparin B in vivo. We performed experiments in which we induced paw edema by carrageenan and other mediators, carrageenan-induced peritonitis and the level of myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1β), malondialdehyde (MDA) acid, and glutathione (GSH) from the peritoneal fluid. We also performed behavior tests such as acetic acid-induced writhing, formalin-induced linking, and the hot plate test.

[Quality of care in the family healthcare units in the city of Recife: user perception].

This study seeks to assess user perception regarding the quality of care in Family Health Units in Recife. It is a descriptive cross-sectional study adopting a quantitative approach. The survey was conducted in Recife and 939 users were interviewed, being predominantly young adults, female, married, housewives with low levels of education.
