Crude laccase extracted from the Amillariella mellea fermentation broth was directly used to catalyze the degradation of 2,4-chlorophenol (2,4-DCP) and 2-chlorophenol (2-CP). The effects of reaction time, pH, temperature, chlorophenol concentration, and laccase dosage on the removal efficiency of chlorophenols were investigated. Optimal catalytic conditions for the degradation of chlorophenols were obtained and the degradation kinetics were analyzed.

Article Synopsis
  • * Optimal conditions for decolorization were identified: for KN-R, the best results came at 30°C, 80 mg/L dye concentration, 0.25 U/mL enzyme dosage, and pH 5, achieving over 90% decolorization; for X-BR, conditions were similar but with lower dye concentration and different enzyme dosage and pH, achieving over 70% decolorization.
  • * The findings suggest that laccase from Amillariella melle
