Objective: This study introduces a technique for esophagojejunostomy with half transected and self-pulling (HTSP) and evaluates the safety, feasibility, and clinical results of this technique in totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy (TLTG).

Materials And Methods: From May 2019 to March 2021, 42 patients (HTSP group) who underwent HTSP-TLTG surgery in the Department of Abdominal Tumor Surgery of Jiangxi Cancer Hospital were included in this study. The control group consisted of 50 patients undergoing conventional TLTG surgery (conventional anastomosis group) performed by the same surgical team from March 2018 to March 2020.

The construction of multi-modal detection methods has attracted widespread attention in the field of biosensing due to their high sensitivity and strong anti-interference ability. In this manuscript, we developed colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescence dual-signal optical methods based on cerium-based nanoparticles (Ce NPs) for the sensitive detection of vitamin C (VC). The catalysis of Ce NPs with excellent peroxidase-like activity upon the reaction of HO with OPD was occurred, promoting the oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) to generate 2,3-diaminophennazine (OPDox) with an obvious absorption peak at 420 nm and an emission peak at 565 nm.

For several years, the multidrug resistance (MDR) of gastric cancer cells has been a thorny issue worldwide regarding the chemotherapy process and needs to be solved. Here, we report that the ARK5 gene could promote the multidrug resistance of gastric cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. In this study, LV-ARK5-RNAi lentivirus was used to transfect the parental cell line SGC7901 and MDR cell line SGC7901/DDP to construct a stable model of ARK5 interference.

In this study, we report on a low-temperature sintered enamel coating with a high-strength bonding and wear-resistance that protected a grey cast iron substrate. The SiO₂⁻Al₂O₃⁻B₂O₃ composited prescription for the enamel coating was modified by the partial substitutions of SiO₂ for B₂O₃ and alkali metals for Li₂O. The optimized enamel coating was prepared by sintering at a relatively low temperature (730 °C) for seven minutes.

We analyzed blood and pleural fluid samples from 89 Taiwanese children with empyema thoracis and parapneumonic pleural effusion. Streptococcus pneumoniae was the major pathogen, identified in 12 children by bacterial culture and 53 children by molecular techniques, and serotype 19A was the dominant serotype. Also noteworthy was the detection of pneumococcal serotype 1, Haemophilus influenzae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae in these children.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of preparing solid dispersions of the poorly soluble budesonide by supercritical fluid (SCF) technique, using poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) as a hydrophilic carrier. The budesonide-PEO solid dispersions were prepared, using supercritical carbon dioxide (SC CO(2)) as the processing medium, and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), solubility test and dissolution test in order to understand the influence of the SCF process on the physical status of the drug. The endothermic peak of budesonide in the SCF-treated mixtures was significantly reduced, indicating that budesonide was in amorphous form inside the carrier system.

A microbially triggered colon-targeted osmotic pump (MTCT-OP) has been studied. The gelable property at acid condition and colon-specific biodegradation of chitosan were used to: (1) produce the osmotic pressure, (2) form the drug suspension and (3) form the in situ delivery pores for colon-specific drug release, respectively. Antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of Erigeron breviscapus (EEEB) were studied by using neuron oxidative injury model induced by superoxide radical. EEEB at the dose of 10-140 mug/ml reduced significantly the lipid peroxidation levels and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) release from neuron exposed to superoxide radical (generated by xanthine and xanthine oxidase). These results suggest that neuroprotective actions of EEEB may be due to its antioxidant or radical scavenging activity.

Aim: To study the effects of protease inhibitors on the large and small intestinal absorption of insulin in rats and to explore the mechanism of various protease inhibitors in different intestinal regions.

Methods: The intestinal absorption of insulin was evaluated by its hypoglycemic effect and serum insulin level using an in situ loop method with the washing treatment.

Results: Administration of insulin alone did not decrease the glucose level at either intestinal region with or without the washing treatment.

The objective of this investigation was to examine the permeation of acyclovir palmitate from various liposome formulations through hairless rat skin in vitro. The penetrated amount, permeability and intradermal retention of ACV-C16 were compared among various lipid compositions and different vesicle charges. We found that all of the liposome formulations resulted in higher flux and permeability of ACV-C16 than a common ointment form.

Aim: To study the effects of various liposomes formulations and preparation methods on the stability of acyclovir palmitate (ACV-C16) liposomes on storage at 4 degrees C and 25 degrees C over a 6 months period.

Methods: The mean particle size, Zeta potential, pH and leaking ratio of ACV-C16 liposomes were the parameters chosen to indicate the stability of liposomes. All of the parameters were compared among various lipid compositions [egg lecithin/cholesterol/hosphatidylserine (PC/CH/PS), egg lecithin/cholesterol/stearylamine (PC/CH/SA), egg lecithin/cholesterol/cholesteryl sulphate (PC/CH/CS), bovine brain ceramides/cholesterol/palmitic acid/cholesteryl sulphate (CM/CH/PA/CS)], different preparation methods (film dispersing, reverse phase evaporation, dehydration/rehydration), charges (positive, negative), as well as among multilamellar vesicles liposomes (MLV), large unilamellar vesicles liposomes (LUV) and dehydration/rehydration vesicles liposomes (DRV).
