Objective: To explore the lung cancer burden and related risk factors in groups of different sex, ages and levels of sociodemographic index (SDI) at global, regional and national levels.
Methods: Using newly released GBD 2019 data, we explored the trends of lung cancer burden and its related risk factors in groups of different sex, ages and levels of SDI at global, regional and national levels. The Global Health Data Exchange query tool was used to obtain the data.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Plastrum testudinis (PT) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat bone diseases such as senile osteoporosis (SOP) for thousands of years. However, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown.
Aim Of The Study: This study aims to investigate the possible molecular mechanism of PT in the treatment of SOP using an integrated strategy of network pharmacology and experimental validation.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Plastrum testudinis (PT) is a kind of single traditional Chinese medicine that can tonify kidney and strengthen bone. Plastrum testudinis extract (PTE) has been approved to promote the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in vitro. However, the mechanism by which PTE reduces osteoclast differentiation has not yet been reported.

In the present PELD surgery, performing decompression under endoscope still takes a long time to explore the rupture site of annulus fibrosus, resulting in prolonged operation time and over-invasion of the undegenerated annulus fibrosus. A wide range of intraoperative exploration also induces an iatrogenic injury of the normal annulus fibrosus, even aggravating intervertebral disc degeneration, which may lead to early postoperative recurrence in severe case.

To explore the mechanism of the effect of EHF in NSCLC, EHF expression was examined in NSCLC and its role in cell proliferation, invasion, cell cycle, and apoptosis of NSCLC cells was evaluated by overexpressing EHF and/or knocking down EHF expression in NSCLC cells and in cancer cell grafted mice . The results revealed that the knockdown of EHF expression in NSCLC with siRNA significantly inhibited cell proliferation and invasion, arrested the cell cycle at the G/G phase, and induced apoptosis, whereas overexpression of EHF in NSCLC promoted cell proliferation, tumor growth, and cancer cell migration .

Nevertheless, the effects and the potential mechanisms of miR-665 in human LUSC are still unknown.

However, genome-wide identification of the gene family was not revealed in . In this study, 61 genes were identified from and divided into 7 subfamilies according to their conserved domains and phylogenetic relationships.

Therefore, it is essential to understand the nutrient composition of various fruits in depth. In this study, we performed LC-MS-based non-targeted metabolomic analyses with ten kinds of fruit, including passion fruit, mango, starfruit, mangosteen, guava, mandarin orange, grape, apple, blueberry, and strawberry.

Some studies have suggested that abnormal expressions of gene are associated with multiple cancers. This study aims to test the hypothesis that hepatoblastoma risk may be modulated by genetic polymorphisms in gene based on genotyped data from samples of 328 cases and 1476 controls enrolled from eight hospitals in China.

HECT domain E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1 (HECTD1) functions during microglial activation, suggesting a connection with neuroinflammation. However, the potential role of HECTD1 in astrocytes remains largely unknown.

Some Erycibes species have long been used as traditional remedies for rheumatoid arthritis, fever, hepatitis, and liver injury in China and Thailand. A total of 152 compounds from Erycibes plants have been isolated and identified, categorized as flavonoids, coumarins, quinic acid derivatives, lignans, and alkaloids.

Methods: Clinical data were collected from 136 patients who were definitely diagnosed with mCRC in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016, and whose genetic test showed wild-type (WT) Kirsten Ras (KRAS), and they were randomly divided into two groups and underwent cetuximab plus chemotherapy (n=68, Cetuximab group) or only chemotherapy (n=68, Chemotherapy group). The clinical short-term efficacy, incidence of adverse reactions and quality-of-life score of patients were compared between the two groups, and the survival and disease progression were recorded during follow-up.
Lung cancer, the most concerning malignancy worldwide and one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. Growing evidence indicates that Angiomotin (Amot)-p130 plays an important role in types of cancer, including breast cancer and gastric cancer. Moreover, evidence suggested that the low Amot-p130 expression correlates with the poor prognosis of lung cancer patients, however, the role and mechanism of Amot-p130 in lung cancer is still unclear.

Chest radiograph (CXR) has been playing a crucial role in COVID-19 patient triaging, diagnosing and monitoring, particularly in the United States. Considering the mixed and unspecific signals in CXR, an image retrieval model of CXR that provides both similar images and associated clinical information can be more clinically meaningful than a direct image diagnostic model.

The aim of this study was to establish an arecoline-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) model of OSCC cells and to investigate the underlying mechanisms. CAL33 and UM2 cells were induced with arecoline to establish an EMT cell model and perform RNA-sequence screening.

Background: Sensitive and high throughput molecular detection assays are essential during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The vast majority of the SARS-CoV-2 molecular assays use nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) or oropharyngeal swab (OPS) specimens collected from suspected individuals. However, using NPS or OPS as specimens has apparent drawbacks, e.
