Dietary protein quality plays a key role in maintaining intestinal mucosal integrity, but also modulates the growth of luminal microorganisms. This work assessed the effect of dietary protein sources on the performance, gut morphology, and microbiome in Nile tilapia. Four isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets comprising equivalent amounts of the protein supply derived from either PLANT, ANIMAL, INSECT, or BACTERIAL (bacterial biomass) sources were fed to triplicate groups of fish (IBW: 12 g) for 46 days.

Objectives: The role of lymphadenectomy in the management of early endometrial cancer remains controversial. The aim of our study was to evaluate risk factors associated with nodal metastases in endometrial cancer and to devise a predictive risk model based on the significant risk factors in predicting node metastasis.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on women diagnosed with uterus-confined endometrial cancer, and who underwent surgical staging with pelvic and/or paraaortic lymphadenectomy from our center during July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019.

MPNSTs (malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours) arise rarely from the female genital tract, even more rarely from the uterus. A literature review showed 18 cases affecting the uterine cervix, but only four affecting the uterus per se, making our present case the fifth to be involving the uterus, specifically round ligament. It was the first time a uterine lesion (not uterine cervix) was defined in a neurofibromatosis patient.

Clinicopathologic classification of endometrial cancer imperfectly reflects the tumor biology. Pathologic categorization - especially in high-grade tumors - results in an imprecise estimation of the risk of disease, recurrence, and death. Molecular subtyping is emerging as the standard of care in diagnosis and treatment of endometrial cancers.

Senegalese sole () has been considered a promising new flatfish species for Mediterranean marine fish farming. Accurate prediction of fillet traits in live animals may allow for more efficient control of muscle deposition in fish. In this sense, this study was undertaken to develop a non-invasive method to predict in vivo fish fillet volume and yield using real-time ultrasonography (RTU).

Abstract: Uterine sarcomas are heterogeneous group of tumours comprising 1% of gynaecological malignancies. There is lack of concences on optimal treatment of uterine sarcomas. This is because of lack of randomised controlled trials due to rarity of these tumours.

Article Synopsis
  • Accurate surgical staging is crucial for managing endometrial carcinoma, and the sentinel node (SLN) technique presents a less invasive alternative to extensive lymphadenectomy for assessing the disease's stage.
  • A study involving 30 patients with early-stage carcinoma endometrium showed a 63.4% detection rate for sentinel nodes, utilizing a combination of radio colloid dye and isosulphan blue dye.
  • Results indicated that while the majority of patients had negative findings for sentinel nodes, the method achieved a higher detection rate with radiocolloid dye, particularly for lower-grade tumors and endometrioid variants.

  • - Ovarian cysts can sometimes be linked to endocrine disorders, with hypothyroidism being a rare cause that may mimic cancer.
  • - The report discusses three cases of patients mistakenly suspected of having ovarian cancer, but they were actually found to have severe hypothyroidism.
  • - After starting treatment with thyroxine, the patients experienced significant improvement and their ovarian masses resolved, highlighting the importance of considering hypothyroidism in similar cases to prevent unnecessary surgeries.

Extramammary Paget's disease is a rare neoplasm that may affect the vulva. It usually presents as a pruritic red eczematous lesion with islands of hyperkeratosis that is often mistaken for other benign conditions. There are no specific guidelines for the management of this disease.

Background: Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is the precursor lesion of cervical cancer. Untreated high-grade CIN significantly increases the risk of developing invasive cancer. Conization is the main treatment.

Surgical staging remains the standard primary treatment of endometrial cancer. Lymph node metastasis is the most important prognostic factor which helps in deciding adjuvant treatment. Extensive lymphadenectomy is associated with increased incidence of morbidity.

The apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of differently processed okara meals were assessed in Nile tilapia diets: dried okara not autoclaved (FOK), dried okara autoclaved (AOK), okara hydrolyzed with Alcalase (ALOK) or proteases (CYOK), and hydrolyzed okara fermented with lactic bacteria: R11 (CYR11OK) or ssp. Bb12 (CYB12OK). Okara processing significantly affected nutrient digestibility: dry matter ADC was highest in CYR11OK (80%) and lowest in FOK (40%).

Article Synopsis
  • Colposcopy is a diagnostic tool used to evaluate cervical pre-cancer and cancer, with scoring systems that have inconsistencies among different observers, prompting the introduction of the IFCPC nomenclature in 2011 to standardize interpretations.
  • The study aimed to assess the agreement between colposcopic diagnoses using this modified IFCPC terminology and actual cervical pathology, particularly in low-resource settings.
  • Results showed a 65.7% agreement between colposcopic scoring and histopathology, indicating substantial reliability, while agreement with cytology was lower at 35.6%, suggesting the IFCPC terminology enhances colposcopic accuracy compared to traditional methods.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how to predict optimal cytoreduction (OCR) in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer using CT imaging and CA 125 levels, assessing their survival post-surgery.
  • Conducted on 51 women with stage III C ovarian cancer who underwent interval cytoreduction after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, the study documented various clinical variables and measured CA 125 values before and after chemotherapy.
  • Results showed that 60.8% of patients achieved OCR, with high survival rates at 6 months (100%) and 12 months (92.8%) for those who did, while survival dropped for patients with residual disease after surgery.

Insects are emerging as a sustainable alternative to fishmeal and fish oil in aquafeeds. This study assessed the effect of graded incorporation levels of defatted yellow mealworm () protein meal on juvenile rainbow trout () growth performance, body composition, and apparent nutrient digestibility. The trial comprised five dietary treatments: control diet with 25% fishmeal, and four experimental diets with yellow mealworm protein meal at 5%, 7.

Outstanding research in the last few decades led to newer insights into the management of gynecological cancers. In the preventive arena, the efficacy and safety of HPV vaccination are well accepted and is now in addition to bi- and quadrivalent vaccines; there is a nonavalent vaccine against nine oncogenic HPV strains. Recent studies also looked into the dosaging schedules and age of vaccination against HPV to improve the vaccine efficacy and coverage.

Fish and seafood consumption are increasing worldwide and the contribution of aquaculture products to consumers' diets is significant. External feeding in aquaculture unlocks the possibility of tailoring fish products with health beneficial compounds. A study was undertaken to evaluate the feed fortification with an iodine-rich macroalgae (Laminaria digitata) and selenised yeast, at its maximum permitted levels, on minerals and vitamins content in rainbow trout edible part.
