Current Approaches and Methods of Systemic Therapy and Counselling: KIKOSR Combines Techniques and Systems Therapy with children and teens could often be more effective and sustainable if the therapeutic process included not only the family environment, but also the more distant environment, such as teachers and pedagogues from school and leisure activities. It is important to take a look at the principles of hypnotherapeutic and systemic therapy approaches and perhaps even beyond. Whenever working according to guidelines or manuals no longer shows success, it can be extremely helpful to interrupt those patterns by making use of a combination of different therapeutic techniques, such as PEP®, impact and embodiment techniques, as well as resource and solution-oriented approaches.

Acoustic imaging methods often ignore multiple scattering. This leads to false images in cases where multiple scattering is strong. Marchenko imaging has recently been introduced as a data-driven way to deal with internal multiple scattering.

Article Synopsis
  • Burst-suppression (BS) in EEG is characterized by alternating high-amplitude slow waves (bursts) and flat periods (suppression), commonly seen in comatose patients and linked to various medical conditions.
  • This study investigated the neuronal network responsible for burst and suppression phases in 13 neonates and infants using advanced EEG analysis techniques to track brain connectivity.
  • Results indicated that burst phases involve active communication between the thalamus, brainstem, and cortical regions, while suppression phases show diminished interaction, suggesting a "cortical deafferentiation" during suppression that may impact neurological function.

Article Synopsis
  • * The research involved 20 patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases and 21 healthy controls, using MRI to measure arrival times of a contrast agent injected into the bloodstream.
  • * Results indicated that patients with liver metastases had significantly shorter HTTs compared to healthy individuals, confirming that MRI can effectively identify hemodynamic changes in such conditions.

In a clinical-experimental study the influence of variations in the palatal shape of upper removable appliances upon tongue position during swallowing was investigated. During a clinical examination of 35 dental students displaying a physiological swallowing pattern, the tongue position during swallowing was recorded by palatography on an individually adapted upper plate. During swallowing with a roughened plate with an individual palatal shape and an imitated palatal papilla, the tongue position was significantly more posterior than with a highly polished, unstructured plate.

Age-related changes of diastolic left ventricular (LV) function consist of increased diastolic wall stiffness (reduced compliance) and diminished velocity and extent of relaxation. There is a shift of ventricular filling from early to late diastole. Atrial contribution to LV filling increases, which helps maintain stroke volume.

The regulation of IgE production in B lymphocytes of patients with atopic dermatitis by interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) was studied. IL-4 stimulated IgE production in vitro in B-cells of healthy donors and of children with atopic dermatitis, but had only a marginal effect on the high basal level of IgE production by lymphocytes from adult patients with atopic dermatitis. The addition of IFN-gamma prevented in all cases the stimulation of IgE synthesis induced by IL-4.

By means of the aminopyrine breath analysis the influence of phenylbutazone, propyphenazone and of the combination preparation Wofapyrin "new" on the aminopyrine-N-demethylation, a hepatic microsomal performance of biotransformation in patients with diseases of the rheumatic circle of forms was examined. The enzyme-inducing effect of phenylbutazone known from literature could be confirmed. On the other hand despite a relatively highly dosed one-week treatment propyphenazone did not lead to changes of the demethylation capacity of the liver in the majority of the patients.

The bioavailability (BA) of phenylbutazone and clofezone preparations had been determined in patients suffering from rheumatic diseases. Clofezone is a compound preparation of phenylbutazone and clofexamide, with which the phenylbutazone portion amounts to 49%. In spite of an equivalent dosage (0.

For determination of the sulphapyridine level there were used 83 sera of 57 patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis which were treated with salazosulphapyridine. In 22,8 percent there was a sulphapyridine level higher than the therapeutic range of the whole sulphapyridine of 20-50 micrograms/ml. The serum levels are below this range frequently.

The 14C-aminopyrine breath test is a simple procedure for the non-invasive determination of the microsomal function of the liver. After the oral administration of a tracer dose of 2 microCi (74 kBq) of 14C-aminopyrine the 14CO2 activity of the expired breath air is determined in hourly intervals. There is a close correlation between its decrease and the elimination of aminopyrine from the plasma.

Estimations of the serum level of sulfapyridine in 21 patients suffering from colitis ulcerosa or Crohn's disease, have been carried out. Nearly 50 per cent of all the serum levels were within the therapeutic range between 20 and 50 micrograms/ml. Some factors influencing the sulfasalazine metabolism are mentioned.

On the basis of more than 35 cases from literature a survey of clinical and paraclinical findings, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of the pulmonary reaction evoked by gold is given. The first symptoms mostly appear within the initial phase of the treatment, after several weeks to months. Unexpectedly increasing dyspnoea, weakness, cough and feeling of sickness in patients who are treated with gold salts are warning signals which refer to the possibility of a lung injury by gold.
