Periprosthetic acetabular fractures are a major challenge in orthopedics. Proper recognition of these complex cases helps to identify and treat patients with different presentations. These fractures can occur intraoperatively and be treated immediately, or they can occur postoperatively, following trauma or in the context of chronic low bone quality or associated implant loosening.

Background: Preterm birth contributes to adverse mental health outcomes of parents dealing with a premature neonate. The main objective of this study is to determine whether music therapy (MT) songwriting during the infants' stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is superior to standard care in reducing the risk of postpartum depression in high-risk parents of preterm children throughout the hospital treatment. The secondary objectives include assessment of effectiveness of MT in other aspects of mental health (anxiety level, perceived stress, mental wellbeing, coping, resilience).

Introduction: The threshold of a Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD) by clinical examination on a sheet or centimeter paper (CP) is not known precisely whether or not it concerns limbs equipped with a hip prosthesis. We therefore conducted a prospective in silico study in order to: (1) determine the reproducibility and sensitivity of the clinical measurement of the LLD in different ideal and "degraded" clinical situations, (2) determine the threshold from which the human eye is capable of detecting a length inequality in clinic, (3) to determine whether the use of a graduated support (centimeter paper) improves the clinical measurement threshold.

Hypothesis: Our hypothesis was that clinical measurement on a centimeter support would improve clinical measurement accuracy.

The therapeutic potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (bmMSCs) to address heart failure needs improvement for better engraftment and survival. This study explores the role of metabolic sorting for human bmMSCs in coculture in vitro and on doxorubicin-induced heart failure mice models. Using functional, epigenetic, and gene expression approaches on cells sorted for mitochondrial membrane potential in terms of their metabolic status, we demonstrated that bmMSCs selected for their glycolytic metabolism presented proliferative advantage and resistance to oxidative stress thereby favoring cell engraftment.

Purpose: The classification of acetabular fractures remains a challenge for the junior radiologist, although he is the first line of diagnosis in Emergency Department. The advantages of three-dimensional reconstructions have yet to be evaluated on a large scale.

Method: A total of 212 fractures were classified according to Letournel and Judet by a senior orthopaedic surgeon, a senior radiologist, and a resident radiologist.

We describe an independent anterolateral ligament reconstruction technique using the gracilis tendon that can be added to any type of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction procedure. No additional tunnels are drilled. The dual-strand graft is attached to the bone cortex with a nonmetallic, knotless anchor using minimally invasive incisions.

One-Stage ACL Revision Using a Bone Allograft Plug for a Semianatomic Tibial Tunnel That Is Too Anterior.

Revision of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction can be performed as a one-stage or two-stage surgery. Several factors must be taken into consideration when making this choice, especially the size and position of the existing tunnels. When the tibial tunnel is semianatomic, it is difficult to make a new tunnel in the correct position without overlapping the existing tunnel.

The lateral femoral epicondyle is often used as a reference point for positioning of the ALL graft and can be located by palpation or with ultrasound guidance.

Purpose: To compare the ALL graft positioning on the femoral side between an ultrasound-guided technique and a palpation technique for the location of the lateral epicondyle.

Three types of arthroplasties can be proposed: total prostheses with or without a dual mobility cup (DM THA) reducing the risk of dislocation, and hemiarthroplasties. In the absence of clear recommendations regarding the type of implant to be used and the scarcity of studies comparing HA and DM THA, we conducted a monocentric comparative retrospective study using the propensity score method to compare DM THA versus HA on recently displaced femoral neck fractures: (1) survival and risk of dislocation, (2) functional results, (3) mortality.

A protocol for human bone marrow adipocyte isolation and purification.

Primary human bone marrow adipocytes (BM-Ads) display a specific metabolism that is not recapitulated by differentiated bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells. Outside-In Anterior Cruciate Ligament Revision With Lateral Tenodesis and High-Strength Suture Augmentation Is Easy to Perform With the Iliotibial Band.

We describe a technique for revision anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery using a 15-cm strip of the iliotibial band as a graft and the gracilis tendon if available. An internal brace is added to augment the graft. The graft is passed through the femur by drilling an outside-in tunnel from the isometric point F9 of Krackow toward the ACL's footprint and is then double fixed at the tibia using an interference screw and a cortical button.
