Exploring the Nurses' Perspective on Using Remote Electronic Symptom Monitoring in Clinical Decision-Making Among Patients With Metastatic Lung Cancer.

Objectives: Patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures are commonly used in clinical practice, and an important aspect is how healthcare professionals use these measures to make clinical decisions. This study aimed 1) to understand how remote electronic symptom monitoring using PRO measures can support oncology nurses' clinical decision-making in patients with metastatic lung cancer and 2) to explore factors that potentially can influence how remote symptom monitoring supports clinical decision-making.

Data Sources: A qualitative approach using semistructured interviews was conducted with 18 registered nurses working with remote symptom monitoring at oncology departments at eight Danish hospitals.

Remote Symptom Monitoring Using Patient-Reported Outcomes in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: Process Evaluation of a Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: In Denmark, outpatient follow-up for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is changing from in-hospital visits toward more remote health care delivery. The nonuse of remote patient-reported outcomes (PROs) is a well-known challenge, and it can be difficult to explain which mechanisms of interventions influence the outcome. Process evaluation may, therefore, be used to answer important questions on how and why interventions work, aiming to enhance the implications for clinical practice.

Effects of a passive shoulder exoskeleton on muscle activity among Danish slaughterhouse workers.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of a shoulder exoskeleton on muscle activity and to compare the effect with a lifting glove among slaughterhouse workers in occupational settings.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a crossover study of 26 workers measured during two work days with and without the use of a passive shoulder exoskeleton and a lifting glove at a Danish slaughterhouse. Electromyography sensors were placed bilateral on 5 shoulder muscles.

Perceived stress in adolescence and labour market participation in young adulthood - a prospective cohort study.

Background: Adolescence is a key-developmental stage for physical, neurological, psychological, and social changes. In this developmental stage, a large number of people struggle with mental health problems like stress, anxiety, or depression. Psychological vulnerability in adolescence has previously been found to be negatively related to future low labour market participation.

Involvement un-enabled? An ethnographic study of the challenges and potentials of involving relatives in the acute ambulatory clinical pathway.

Background: Involving a patient's relatives is a complex endeavour, especially in emergency departments (EDs). Generally, relatives are recognized as vital partners in health care, but in-depth knowledge on how these family involvement processes take place in the everyday practices of EDs is sparse. The aim of this study is to explore the practice of involving relatives in the acute ambulatory clinical pathway in the ED, as seen from the perspectives of patients and relatives.

Violence prevention in special education schools - an integrated practice?

Research has shown that employees in special education settings are at high risk for work-related threats and violence. Previous research has not yet been able to identify the essential components of training programs that offer protection from work-related threats and violence. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore how employees in special education schools deal with prevention of work-related threats and violence.

Collaboration and patient safety at an emergency department - a qualitative case study.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine how conflicts about collaboration between staff at different departments arose during the establishment of a new emergency department and how these conflicts affected the daily work and ultimately patient safety at the emergency department. Design/methodology/approach This qualitative single case study draws on qualitative semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The theoretical concepts "availability" and "receptiveness" as antecedents for collaboration will be applied in the analysis.

Safety leadership at construction sites: the importance of rule-oriented and participative leadership.

Objectives The construction industry accounted for >20% of all fatal occupational accidents in Europe in 2014. Leadership is an essential antecedent to occupational safety. The aim of the present study was to assess the influence of transformational, active transactional, rule-oriented, participative, and laissez-faire leadership on safety climate, safety behavior, and accidents in the Swedish and Danish construction industry.
