Objective: To analyze the exercise of professional autonomy of intensive care nurses during times of the new coronavirus pandemic.

Objective: To historically analyze psychiatric nursing teaching at the Universidade Federal de Alagoas from 1976 to 1981.

Methods: Qualitative study; social-historical approach employing Thematic Oral History based on the documentary sources and testimonials from nurses, students, professors, and professionals at the psychiatric hospital where these practices occurred. The study researched World, Brazil, and Alagoas history and the Curricular Guidelines for Nursing for the history comprehension and used Erving Goffman's concepts as a theoretical reference.

Objective: To understand the existential transformations of the family caregiver of a person living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Method: Qualitative study based on assumptions of Martin Heidegger Existential Phenomenology, with 12 family caregivers of the person with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, in Alagoas. This study of a historical nature analyzes the work of health visitors of the Public Health Service Foundation in Alagoas between 1960 and 1990 and the symbolic capital attributed to them. Documental and oral sources were used, the latter produced in interviews conducted using thematic oral history, given by the visitors, the physician and nurse. The information was analyzed based on the concepts of habitus, field, symbolic capital and distinction of Pierre Bourdieu, and revealed that health visitors were relevant in the healthcare of the communities where they worked with distinctive approaches to inculcate health practices through home visits and authority to reconfigure the hygienic habitus of families.

Observing the activities of PSF (Health Family Program) in São Sebastião, it was detected low offer of the education actions in health, as part of the activities of this program. This is an analysis of the adaptation of the Pedagogical Political Project of the Nursing Graduate Program at Alagoas Federal University (PPP/Enf/UFAL) to new Brazilian curriculum guidelines, evidencing convergence points and some points that need to be approached, taking into account that the present project was established prior to the existence of the current curricular guidelines. Our analysis shows that the main difficulties presented by the newly implemented curriculum lie in the ones inherent to the process of changing conceptions on the educational process in Nursing and in the work conditions imposed by the current situation of the Brazilian Public University System. It calls for a review on strategies and contents related to the basis of research and expansion in Nursing Sciences, as well as the search for alternatives to integration with domain areas from Humanistic and Health Sciences.

This study is an analysis of the themes and the knowledge subareas where nursing researchers from CNPq (Brazilian Council for Technological and Scientific Development) are included, based on the projects assessed over the period from 2002 through 2003. Their goals were to present the distribution of researchers according to their present classification in the Nursing area adopted by CNPq and discuss the representativity of the researchers from this knowledge area. Results evidenced that the predominant subareas regarding research in this category were: fundamentals of the care process, followed by the area of adult nursing care.
