Consequences of the legislation issued for nursing education in times of COVID-19 (2020-2022).

Objectives: to analyze the legislation issued during the COVID-19 pandemic for nursing education and immediate consequences.

Methods: documentary research, whose source was the legislation issued for nursing education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thirty-two documents were analyzed and submitted to a collection instrument.

Exercise of professional autonomy of intensive care nurses in the pandemic scenario.

Objective: To analyze the exercise of professional autonomy of intensive care nurses during times of the new coronavirus pandemic.

Method: A descriptive, qualitative study, conducted with 19 nurses from Intensive Care Units of two public hospitals and one private hospital. The information was produced from October 2020 to January 2021, through semi-structured interviews, using content analysis in thematic modality, guided by Eliot Freidson's Sociology of Professions.

The history of Psychiatric Nursing education at the Universidade Federal de Alagoas (1976-1981).

Objective: To historically analyze psychiatric nursing teaching at the Universidade Federal de Alagoas from 1976 to 1981.

Methods: Qualitative study; social-historical approach employing Thematic Oral History based on the documentary sources and testimonials from nurses, students, professors, and professionals at the psychiatric hospital where these practices occurred. The study researched World, Brazil, and Alagoas history and the Curricular Guidelines for Nursing for the history comprehension and used Erving Goffman's concepts as a theoretical reference.

Existential transformations in the process of facing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis by the family caregiver.

Objective: To understand the existential transformations of the family caregiver of a person living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Method: Qualitative study based on assumptions of Martin Heidegger Existential Phenomenology, with 12 family caregivers of the person with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, in Alagoas. The testimonies were obtained from June 2019 to March 2020 and analyzed, categorized, and discussed based on the theoretical-philosophical framework adopted and thematic literature.

The professional autonomy of nursing in pandemic times.

Objective: To reflect on the exercise of Nursing's professional autonomy in times of pandemic.

Method: Theoretical reflection in the light of the Sociology of Professions proposed by Eliot Freidson. Using the author's main concepts, it was sought to understand the professional practice of Nursing in times when its protagonism in the care process becomes even more challenging.

[Symbolic capital of the work of the female health visitors of the Public Health Service Foundation in the State of Alagoas, Brazil].

This study of a historical nature analyzes the work of health visitors of the Public Health Service Foundation in Alagoas between 1960 and 1990 and the symbolic capital attributed to them. Documental and oral sources were used, the latter produced in interviews conducted using thematic oral history, given by the visitors, the physician and nurse. The information was analyzed based on the concepts of habitus, field, symbolic capital and distinction of Pierre Bourdieu, and revealed that health visitors were relevant in the healthcare of the communities where they worked with distinctive approaches to inculcate health practices through home visits and authority to reconfigure the hygienic habitus of families.

Project HOPE: American nurses in Brazil (1973).

Objective: to describe the reality of nurses of Project HOPE and discuss the repercussion of their performance in relation to the reconfiguration of nursing in Alagoas State.

Method: social-historical study, whose primary sources were documents filed in the Laboratory of Documentation and Research in History of Nursing, granted by this project; oral testimonies resulting from the transcription of interviews of US nurses and the VeNeta Masson's'logbook, coordinator nurse of the ship. The discussion of the data was based on Pierre Bourdieu's theory.

The importance of civilian nursing organizations: integrative literature review.

Objective: to identify and analyze evidence from studies about the importance of civilian nursing organizations.

Method: an integrative literature review, for which searches were conducted in the databases LILACS, PubMed/MEDLINE, SciELO, BDENF, and Scopus.

Results: sixteen articles published between the years 2004-2013 were selected, 68.

The experience of nursing students facing death and dying.

Objective: To understand the phenomenon experienced by nursing students in their academic practices in view of death and dying.

Methodology: This was a qualitative study, based on Martin Heidegger' existential phenomenology, undertaken at a public University in Alagoas, Brazil, between August and October 2013. Seven senior students of nursing were interviewed.

Complaints filed against nursing professionals.

Background: In their daily practice, Brazilian nurses have been met with complaints from co-workers and patients, as well as bioethical dilemmas intrinsic to the profession, particularly in the context of care delivery. Complaints against nursing professionals have been in the media spotlight.

Objective: To examine complaints filed with the Regional Board of Nursing of Mato Grosso do Sul (COREN-MS) in Midwest Brazil.

[Project HOPE contribution to the setting up of the professional identity of the first nurses from Alagoas, 1973-1977].

Social-historical study conducted to examine the contribution of the American Nurses of Project HOPE to the configuration of the professional identity of the first trained nurses in Alagoas, in the period of 1973-1977. The theoretical framework was the "Civilizing Process" of Norbert Elias. Primary sources were official documents and personal files of 13 respondents by oral history; the secondary sources were authors of the History of Brazil/Alagoas.

[Nakedness of the patient from the perspective of students of fundamental nursing].

The study aimed to analyze the speech of students, their view of the denudation of the body to handle. It was a descriptive qualitative research, whose subjects were 21 students from three courses of 3 to 5 semesters. The information was produced by transcribing the twenty-one semi-structured interviews and analyzed on the basis of Foucault's thought.

[The nurse and patient's nudity].

This is a qualitative study about the relationship among nurses of a university hospital and their patients when they need to undress those patients to take care. The purpose was to analyze speech of seven nurses in this situation. The information was taken by transcribing the semi-structured interviews which were analyzed according Michel Foucault's thought.

[Nursing as social practice: an exercise of reflection].

In this work we aimed at reflecting about the nursing as a social practice. To build these ideas, we reconsidered this concept in its philosophical and social roots. With the purpose to contribute for this reflection, we looked for the characteristics that define the nursing as an historical and socially build practice, through the nursing development, since its beginning.

[Worker's life before and after repetive cumulative trauma (RCT) and osteomuscular work-related disease (OWRD)].

This is a qualitative work, which focused on workers routine before and after being affected by RCT/ OWRD. The study aimed at verifying and analyzing if workers' lives had changed after the disease diagnostic. The research took place at sections of the TRT-AL--a Court responsible for labor conciliations in Maceió - Alagoas.

[History and perspectives of nurses' organization in union movements].

This article presents a reflection about the history of nurses' organization in union movements just like the Central Unica dos Trabalhadores--CUT (Workers Central Union) and its perspectives for the future. The objective is to clarify the presenting ways for the union movements at present time. Primary sources for reflections was CUT's documentation.

[Understanding and practice of educational actions of health family program professionals in São Sebastião-AL: detecting difficulties].

Observing the activities of PSF (Health Family Program) in São Sebastião, it was detected low offer of the education actions in health, as part of the activities of this program. The aims of this work were to identify what was causing all this, according to the professionals' understanding about Education in Health and also to identify difficulties that was faced to develop those actions. It was a descriptive study whose subjects were 10 academical professionals of the local team, interviewed according to a semi-structured guide.

[Pedagogical Project for the Graduate Nursing Program at UFAL: adaptations to curricular guidelines].

This is an analysis of the adaptation of the Pedagogical Political Project of the Nursing Graduate Program at Alagoas Federal University (PPP/Enf/UFAL) to new Brazilian curriculum guidelines, evidencing convergence points and some points that need to be approached, taking into account that the present project was established prior to the existence of the current curricular guidelines. Our analysis shows that the main difficulties presented by the newly implemented curriculum lie in the ones inherent to the process of changing conceptions on the educational process in Nursing and in the work conditions imposed by the current situation of the Brazilian Public University System. It calls for a review on strategies and contents related to the basis of research and expansion in Nursing Sciences, as well as the search for alternatives to integration with domain areas from Humanistic and Health Sciences.

[Classification of researchers/consultants in the nursing area in the CNPq: contribution to a data bank].

This study is an analysis of the themes and the knowledge subareas where nursing researchers from CNPq (Brazilian Council for Technological and Scientific Development) are included, based on the projects assessed over the period from 2002 through 2003. Their goals were to present the distribution of researchers according to their present classification in the Nursing area adopted by CNPq and discuss the representativity of the researchers from this knowledge area. Results evidenced that the predominant subareas regarding research in this category were: fundamentals of the care process, followed by the area of adult nursing care.

[Technical production and its interface with nursing].

This is a descriptive study which subject concerns the interfaces of technological production with nursing. Its objectives is to analyse the interface of technological production with nursing and to discuss that production on the following dimensions: instructional, instrumental and informatic. To develop this the summaries of the papers presented during the last three editions of the Congresso Brasileiro de Enfermagem--1998, 1999 and 2000 were used as a source of information.

[Circumstances of the formalization of the nursing assistant course in Brazil: studying between the lines the 775/49 law].

The objective of this study is to discuss the circunstances that determined the incorporation of nursing assistant course at the law number 775/49. Thus we tried to understand the brasilian scene and the politics of hospital health during the period of president Dutra's government and the hospital conditions at that time. The laws and edicts about nursing between 1945 and 1949 are fundamental sources, documents from CD/EEAN/UFRJ and nurses deposition about this question.
