Purpose: Report the clinical findings, risk factors, treatment, and visual outcomes associated with endophthalmitis in comparison to culture-positive endophthalmitis associated with non- species.
Methods: A retrospective chart review of adults between 18 and 89 years of age diagnosed with exogenous culture-positive endophthalmitis between January 1, 2009, and January 1, 2018, at the Duke Eye Center (Durham, North Carolina) with at least six months of follow-up from time of initial diagnosis was conducted. Clinical data including patient demographics, ocular history, baseline corrected visual acuity (VA) prior to presentation, time to presentation, presenting exam findings, VA at presentation, presumed etiology of endophthalmitis, medical and surgical management, and VA at the six-month follow-up was extracted and statistically analyzed.
Purpose: To determine whether intereye asymmetry of a three-dimensional neuroretinal rim parameter, the minimum distance band, is useful in differentiating normal eyes from those with open-angle glaucoma.
Materials And Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of 28 normal subjects and 33 glaucoma subjects. Subjects underwent spectral domain optical coherence tomography imaging of both eyes.
Purpose: Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign salivary tumor that may recur multifocally. In case series, the benefit of radiation therapy (RT) for recurrent pleomorphic adenoma remains unclear. We hypothesized that the combination of surgery and adjuvant RT reduces risk of subsequent recurrence compared with surgery alone for recurrent pleomorphic adenoma.

Purpose: To investigate the association between balance and gait measures with fall rates in glaucoma patients.
Methods: Balance and gait were measured for 239 participants with glaucoma or suspected glaucoma. Daily falls were evaluated over 24 months.
Importance: Exposure of the tube of an aqueous drainage device (ADD) through the conjunctiva is a serious complication of ADD surgery. Although placement of gamma-irradiated sterile cornea (GISC) as a patch graft over the tube is commonly performed, exposures still occur.
Objectives: To measure GISC patch graft thickness as a function of time after surgery, estimate the rate of graft thinning, and determine risk factors for graft thinning.
Purpose: To relate balance measures to visual field (VF) damage from glaucoma.
Methods: The OPAL kinematic system measured balance, as root mean square (RMS) sway, on 236 patients with suspect/diagnosed glaucoma. Balance was measured with feet shoulder width apart while standing on a firm/foam surface with eyes opened/closed (Instrumental Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance [ICTSIB] conditions), and eyes open on a firm surface under feet together, semi-tandem, or tandem positions (standing balance conditions).
Purpose: To compare the diagnostic capability of 3-dimensional (3D) neuroretinal rim parameters with existing 2-dimensional (2D) neuroretinal and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness rim parameters using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) volume scans.
Materials And Methods: Design: Institutional prospective pilot study.
Study Population: 65 subjects (35 open-angle glaucoma patients, 30 normal patients).

Use of ThinPrep preparation for fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNA) is gaining popularity. However, there may be a difference in the morphology and the operating characteristics between ThinPrep and conventional methods. The objective of this study was to compare the accuracy of the two methods and to address the pitfalls of ThinPrep preparation in pancreatic FNA.
