In the business scope, this dataset provides a critical vision on the value proposition of the coffee business to maintain conservation and wealth creation of the coffee chain.

Use of Banked Fibula for Improved Nasal Reconstruction Following Free Fibula Midface Reconstruction.

The authors present a technique for 2-stage midface reconstruction utilizing a vascularized free fibula flap for maxillary reconstruction, followed by nasal reconstruction at a second stage utilizing a banked fibula graft.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that causes pain, degradation, and dysfunction. Excessive canonical Wnt signaling in osteoarthritis contributes to chondrocyte phenotypic instability and loss of cartilage homeostasis; however, the regulatory niche is unknown. Using the temporomandibular joint as a model in multiple species, we identify Lgr5-expressing secretory cells as forming a Wnt inhibitory niche that instruct Wnt-inactive chondroprogenitors to form the nascent synovial joint and regulate chondrocyte lineage and identity.

Oral epithelium response of electronic cigarette users to electronic cigarette.

Background: Electronic cigarettes are increasing in popularity, but there is only little information on their biologic effects on the oral epithelium, the initial site exposed to electronic cigarette smoke.

Methods: We assessed the oral epithelium response to electronic cigarettes by comparing the histology and RNA transcriptome (mRNA and miRNA) of healthy electronic cigarette vapers to nonsmokers. mRNA was assessed based on: (1) genome-wide; (2) genes previously identified as dysregulated in the oral epithelium of electronic cigarette vapers versus nonsmokers; (3) immune and inflammatory-related genes previously identified as dysregulated in the nasal epithelium of electronic cigarette vapers compared to nonsmokers; (4) genes previously identified as dysregulated in the small airway epithelium of nonsmokers following an acute exposure to electronic cigarette; and (5) genes related to the initial steps of COVID-19 infection.

Microsurgical Head and Neck Reconstruction in Patients With Fanconi Anemia.

Patients with Fanconi anemia (FA) are at increased risk for head and neck cancers that often necessitate extensive reconstructions. Such patients have multiple comorbidities including anemia and thrombocytopenia frequently requiring bone marrow transplant, and they are at an increased risk of cancer recurrence and need for further extirpation. in the present study, charts from 3 patients with FA who underwent microvascular free tissue transfer by the senior author were retrospectively reviewed for pertinent pre- and peri-operative details in addition to functional and cosmetic outcomes.

Frontal Sinus Fractures: 10-Year Contemporary Experience at a Level 1 Urban Trauma Center.

Frontal sinus fractures account for 5% to 15% of all facial fractures, and have traditionally been associated with high kinetic energy blunt injury. Surgical management is largely focused on minimizing potentially serious sequelae including frontal sinus dysfunction, CSF leak, and significant cosmetic deformity. An institutional database of 1944 patients presenting with maxillofacial fractures over a 10-year period was queried.

Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound Therapy: A Nonsurgical Treatment Modality for Mandible Fracture Nonunion?

Standard treatment of mandibular nonunion includes debridement and application of maxillomandibular or rigid internal fixation techniques, with adjunctive bone grafting when necessary. Frequently described in the orthopaedic literature, low-intensity pulsed ultrasound therapy (LIPUS) is a noninvasive treatment modality used to accelerate healing of fresh fractures and established nonunions. The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review to determine the extent of LIPUS study in the treatment of mandibular nonunions to identify whether LIPUS represents an effective nonsurgical alternative or adjunct for nonunion management.

Injury Patterns in Pediatric Facial Fractures Unique to an Urban Environment.

This study aimed to define better the clinical presentation, fracture patterns, and features predictive of associated injuries and need for surgery in pediatric facial trauma patients in an urban setting. Charts of patients 18 years or younger with International Classification of Disease 9th and 10th revision (ICD-9/ICD-10) codes specific for facial fractures (excluding isolated nasal fractures) at NY-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center between 2008 and 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. Of 204 patients, most were referred to the emergency department by a physician's office or self-presented.

Public perception research evaluating awareness and attitudes towards marine protection is limited in the United Kingdom (UK) and worldwide. Given public opinion can help drive policy and affect its successful delivery we conducted nationwide surveys in 2005, 2010 and 2015 to assess public knowledge of UK (England, Scotland and Wales) sea 'health' and management. Respondents from all three surveys were relatively pessimistic about sea 'health', perceiving this as poor-fair and largely in decline.

Vaccine policy and Arkansas childhood immunization exemptions: a multi-year review.

Background: An increase in total vaccine exemptions (medical, philosophic, and religious) occurred in Arkansas after a 2003 legislation added a philosophic category and used a new process for vaccine exemptions. By legislative requirement, the Arkansas Department of Health monitored exemptions through the 2009-2010 school year.

Purpose: The goal of the study was to determine the prevalence of vaccine exemption in 2003-2010 compared to the number of requests prior to the legislation enacted in 2003.

Incidence of female breast cancer in Arkansas: are we following the national trend?

The incidence of invasive female breast cancer declined 6.7% in the United States from 2002 to 2003 following a nationwide decrease in the use of hormone replacement therapy that began in 2002. We used data from the Arkansas Central Cancer Registry to look for similar changes in the incidence of female breast cancer in Arkansas.

Smoking rates and smoking cessation among individuals with multiple sclerosis.

Purpose: Adults with physical disabilities tend to smoke at higher rates than smokers in the general population. No study to date, however, has assessed smoking prevalence and cessation among individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Such information is critically needed because smoking is more deleterious for individuals with MS than for smokers without MS and increases MS risk.

Inpatient hospital admission rates for nonmalignant respiratory disease among workers exposed to metal removal fluids at a U.S. automobile manufacturer.

This study was undertaken to determine the impact of exposure to metal removal fluids (MRFs) on the respiratory health of exposed workers. The outcome measure selected was the rate of hospital admissions for nonmalignant respiratory disease episodes as determined from healthcare insurance claims data. A cohort of MRF-exposed employees was assembled from 11 manufacturing facilities where MRFs were extensively used in the manufacture of automotive engines, transmissions, and other machined parts.

Comparison of ergonomic risk assessment outputs from Rapid Upper Limb Assessment and the Strain Index for tasks in automotive assembly plants.

This paper compares the ergonomic risk assessment of a task for the upper extremities as determined by Rapid Upper Extremity Assessment (RULA) and the Strain Index (SI). The ergonomic risk to the upper extremities of 244 automotive assembly plant tasks were evaluated using RULA and SI. The outcomes of each tool were compared for each task.
