Existence of potent in vitro regeneration system is a prerequisite for efficient genetic transformation and functional genomics of crop plants. In this study, two contrasting cultivars differencing in their in vitro regeneration efficiency were identified. Tissue culture friendly cultivar Golden Promise (GP) and tissue culture resistant DWRB91(D91) were selected as contrasting cultivars to investigate the molecular basis of regeneration efficiency through multiomics analysis.

This involved use of marker-assisted backcross breeding (MABB) for introgression and pyramiding of the following genes: (i) the high GPC gene ; (ii) HMW glutenin subunits 5 + 10 at loci, and (iii) rust resistance genes, , , , and . GPC increased by 0.

Temperature is one of the most crucial abiotic factors defining the yield potential of temperate cereal crops, such as barley. The regulators of heat shock response (HSR), heat stress transcription factors (Hsfs), modulate the transcription level of heat-responsive genes to protect the plants from heat stress.

ABCG members, specific to plants and fungi, belong to subfamily G. In this study, we provide updated inventory, detailed account of phylogeny, gene structure characteristics, and expression profiling during reproductive development, abiotic and biotic stresses of members of ABCG gene family in rice along with reannotation and cloning of FL-cDNA of OsABCG50/PDR23.

Heat shock proteins (Hsps) are part of major rescue machinery of plants which aid to combat these stressed conditions by re-establishing protein homeostasis. Hsps with their chaperone and co-chaperone mechanisms regulate the activity of their substrate proteins in an ATP-dependent manner.
