We report on a case of a young infant with congenital scoliosis (multiple hemivertebrae in the thoracic region and an unsegmented bar in the mid-thoracic region) associated with Down syndrome. Although scoliosis has been previously described in relation to Down syndrome, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no prior report of Down syndrome associated with congenital scoliosis. The patient underwent placement of a vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib implant.
