Intraoperative Temperature Monitoring with Zero Heat Flux Technology (3M SpotOn Sensor) in Comparison with Tympanic and Oesophageal Temperature and Hypotermia Risk Factors: An Observational Study.

Objective: Inadvertent hypothermia (body temperature below 35°C) is a common and avoidable challenge during surgery under anaesthesia. It is related to coagulation (clotting) disorders, an increase in blood loss, and a higher rate of wound infection. One of the methods for non-invasive monitoring of the core body temperature is the 3M SpotOn zero heat flux method.

Effects of Dexmedetomidine on Renal Ischaemia Reperfusion Injury in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine before and after ischaemia in diabetic rat kidney ischaemia reperfusion (IR) injury in the experimental diabetic rat model.

Methods: Data belonging to 35 rats weighing between 250 and 300 g were analysed. Diabetes mellitus (DM) was induced using streptozotocin.

The effect of chemotherapy on nutritional status and weakness in geriatric gastrointestinal system cancer patients.

Objectives: Malnutrition is common in patients with geriatric gastrointestinal system (GIS) cancer. This study aimed to evaluate patients with geriatric GIS cancer in terms of nutritional status and weakness and determine the changes caused by chemotherapy (CT).

Methods: Patients with geriatric GIS cancer who received CT were included in the study.
