Trimetallic nanoparticles (TMNPs) have opened a broad spectrum of applications with a new class of materialistic combinations in several fields from electronics to medicinal and environmental applications. In this work, we report the synthesis and characterization of Ni/Cu/Ag TMNPs using the polyol method and their nonlinear optical (NLO) studies. A broad surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 443 nm evidences the formation of the Ni/Cu/Ag TMNPs with a peak shift compared to their mono- or bimetallic counterparts.

Methods: This prospective study included 21 patients aged 19 to 32 years-old stimulated with Elonva® 150, associated or not with Menopur® or Merional® (75 or 150IU) since the beginning of the cycle, plus HMG 150-225IU after the 8th day or just HMG 150-300IU per day. Patients were placed in a PPOS protocol with micronized vaginal progesterone (MVP) 200 mg (Gynpro® Exeltis or Junno Farmoquimica) every 12 hours or dydrogesterone (Duphaston® Abbott) 10 mg every 8 hours from the start of stimulation until the day after the GnRH trigger with Triptorelin 0.
Human vertebral malformations (VMs) have an estimated incidence of 1/2000 and are associated with significant health problems including congenital scoliosis (CS) and recurrent organ system malformation syndromes such as VACTERL (vertebral anomalies; anal abnormalities; cardiac abnormalities; tracheo-esophageal fistula; renal anomalies; limb anomalies). The genetic cause for the vast majority of VMs are unknown. In a CS/VM patient cohort, three COL11A2 variants (R130W, R1407L and R1413H) were identified in two patients with cervical VM.

Hence, the primary objective of this study was to assess the validity of these guidelines for NHBs by comparing the prevalence of metachronous advanced colorectal neoplasia (ACN) between NHWs and NHBs undergoing surveillance colonoscopy.
Methods: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study of NHWs ( = 1500) and NHBs ( = 1260) aged 40-75 years who underwent surveillance colonoscopy at an academic safety net hospital between 2007 and 2017.
Background: Determination of sedation type during gastrointestinal procedures is generally based on risk assessment via the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification system, but the reliance of anesthesia risk on clinical factors remains largely uninvestigated. We aim to determine the association between various clinical factors and choice of sedation type during gastrointestinal procedures.
Methods: This single-center, retrospective cohort study used electronic medical records to identify patients receiving colonoscopy or endoscopy at Rhode Island Hospital.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is characterized by genetic-environmental interplay leading to diffuse changes in the entire colonic mucosa (field carcinogenesis or field of injury) and to a pro-neoplastic genetic/epigenetic/physiological milieu. The clinical consequences are increased risk of synchronous and metachronous neoplasia. Factors such as genetics, race, ethnicity, age, and socioeconomic status are thought to influence neoplasia development.

We aimed to assess adverse events associated with hep-bridge compared to temporary cessation of anticoagulants (no-bridge).
Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective cohort study that included anticoagulated patients undergoing colonoscopy between 2013 and 2016 at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
We report the first described case in the United States of balloon-occluded antegrade transvenous obliteration (BATO) performed in a cirrhotic patient with recurrent bleeding from large rectal varices. This is a novel interventional radiology approach to treat bleeding rectal varices. Our patient was a poor candidate for transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt and endoscopic band ligation.

We used CT scans performed for other indications in IBD patients to identify and monitor osteopenia using CT attenuation values at the lumbar spine. Significant rates of bone disease were detected which would have otherwise gone undiagnosed.

infections can be life-threatening but are increasingly being treated successfully with fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). We report two patients with alopecia universalis who developed subsequent hair regrowth after FMT for treatment of recurrent infections. Gut microbiota may have immunomodulatory effects in autoimmune conditions such as alopecia areata, and further study may elucidate disease mechanisms and lead to alternative treatment options for these patients for whom treatment options are currently limited.
