Objectives: This study aimed to characterize the scholarship of teaching and learning specific to drug information and library sciences (DILS) in pharmacy education and provide a comprehensive, evidence-based resource for faculty, detailing published practices for content delivery and scholarly research gaps.

Findings: Systematic searches of PubMed, Embase, International Pharmaceutical Abstracts, Educational Resources Information Center, Scopus, Library Literature & Information Science Full Text, and Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts were conducted from January 1997 through early February 2022. Included studies were published in English, involved DILS content, were specific to pharmacy education, were original research, and were conducted in North America.

Background And Purpose: To describe the implementation of blended learning in teaching motivational interviewing (MI) to third-year pharmacy students and evaluate changes in MI knowledge by assessing students' abilities to recognize and formulate responses using MI skills after the training and, for a subset of students, one year later.

Educational Activity And Setting: The comMIt e-learning program was integrated into a third-year pharmacy communication course. Skills learned in the program were applied and assessed using e-learning quizzes, three in-class practice sessions and a 5-minute final assessment video.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of orally and nasally inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) on final adult height in pediatric patients with mild to moderate persistent asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Data Sources: MEDLINE (1975-April 2013), Cochrane Library (through 2012), and International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (1975-April 2013) were searched for prospective clinical trials assessing the effects of orally or intranasally ICS use on growth in pediatric patients with asthma or allergic rhinitis using the terms inhaled/intranasal corticosteroid, linear growth, height, and asthma or allergic rhinitis.

Study Selection And Data Extraction: Eligible articles included double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled studies of at least 1 year with growth velocity or height as the primary outcome.
