Teledermoscopy, or the utilization of dermatoscopic images in telemedicine, can help diagnose dermatologic disease remotely, triage lesions of concern (i.e., determine whether in-person consultation with a dermatologist is necessary, biopsy, or reassure the patient), and monitor dermatologic lesions over time.
