Pseudotumor Cerebri Syndrome Complicated by Diffuse Ophthalmoparesis and Polyradiculopathy.

Pseudotumor cerebri syndrome (PTCS), also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), is defined by elevated intracranial pressure in the absence of a structural or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) abnormality. Typical features include headache, visual symptoms, and pulsatile tinnitus. Cranial nerve deficits are seen in a minority of cases, most often sixth nerve palsies.

Corneal Changes After Belantamab Mafodotin in Multiple Myeloma Patients.

Objectives: To describe progressive corneal microcyst-like epithelial changes (MECs) that developed in patients treated with the investigational drug belantamab mafodotin (belamaf) for refractory multiple myeloma (MM).

Methods: This is a single center case series of patients with MM receiving the investigational drug belamaf.

Results: All 12 patients included in this analysis who were treated with belamaf developed MECs that initially appeared in the peripheral cornea and progressed centrally with time.

Prenatal exposure to environmental phenols: concentrations in amniotic fluid and variability in urinary concentrations during pregnancy.

Background: Maternal urinary biomarkers are often used to assess fetal exposure to phenols and their precursors. Their effectiveness as a measure of exposure in epidemiological studies depends on their variability during pregnancy and their ability to accurately predict fetal exposure.

Objectives: We assessed the relationship between urinary and amniotic fluid concentrations of nine environmental phenols, and the reproducibility of urinary concentrations, among pregnant women.

Temporal lobe epilepsy surgery: what do patients want to know?

Patients with pharmacoresistant temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) contemplating brain surgery must make a complex treatment decision involving trade-offs. Patient decision aids, containing information on the risks and benefits of treatment interventions, increase patient knowledge and facilitate shared decision making between patients and physicians. We conducted five focus groups to describe the information patients need to make informed decisions about TLE surgery.
