This article reviews two related approaches-conversation analysis (CA) and membership categorization analysis (MCA)-to sketch a systematic framework for exposing how categories and categorial phenomena are (re)produced in naturally occurring social interaction. In so doing, we argue that CA and MCA address recent concerns about psychological methods and approaches. After summarizing how categories are typically theorized and studied, we describe the main features of a CA approach to categories, including how this differs from conventional psychology.

Capacity building for mental health services: methodology and lessons learned from the Partners in Recovery initiative.

Background: The Partners in Recovery (PIR) program was implemented by the Australian Government Department of Health. Its overriding aim was to improve the coordination of services for people with severe and persistent mental illness, and who have complex needs that are not being met. The PIR capacity-building project (CBP) was funded to provide capacity building activities to the nationwide network of consortia that were set up in 2013 to deliver PIR over a 3-year period.

Constraints-based nonlinear phonology provides a comprehensive framework for investigating the impact of sub- and suprasegmental impacts on acquisition (Bernhardt & Stemberger, 1998). Reflections on an evaluation of the 'Remote Health Experience' - an interprofessional learning, cultural immersion program.

Introduction: Cultural immersion can be an effective method of health professional student cultural learning, and part of interprofessional learning. This evaluation aimed to report the views of staff and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributors about a cultural immersion program, as well as the student perspective.

Methods: Semi-structured interviews with staff (11 non-Aboriginal, 3 Aboriginal) and Aboriginal contributors (n=3) were conducted after the 2020 immersion program.

Peroxisome biogenesis disorders-Zellweger spectrum disorders (PBD-ZSD)-are primarily autosomal recessive disorders caused by mutations in any of 13 PEX genes involved in peroxisome assembly. Compared to other PEX-related disorders, some PEX16 defects are associated with an atypical phenotype consisting of spasticity, cerebellar dysfunction, preserved cognition, and prolonged survival. In this case series, medical records and brain MRIs from 7 patients with this PEX16 presentation were reviewed to further characterize this phenotype.
