Purpose: ChatGPT is a commonly used source of information by patients and clinicians. However, it can be prone to error and requires validation. We sought to assess the quality and accuracy of information regarding corneal transplantation and Fuchs dystrophy from 2 iterations of ChatGPT, and whether its answers improve over time.

Thus, little is known about how hospital security is associated with patient and staff safety.
Objective: To examine the harms exerted by health care-affiliated police and security personnel.
Colonization of a novel ecological niche can require, or be driven by, evolution of an animal's behaviors promoting their reproductive success. We investigated the evolution and sensory basis of oviposition in Drosophila sechellia, a close relative of Drosophila melanogaster that exhibits extreme specialism for Morinda citrifolia noni fruit. Whether this effect persists over time and its relationship to intraocular pathology are unclear. We sought to determine whether IOP remained lower in survivors of EVD over 4 years of follow-up and to identify associated risk factors.

The first step of this framework is to "begin self-reflection and educating ourselves." Indeed, ample evidence shows that medical schools have a long history of racially exclusionary practices.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective audit of all SCC of EAC/TB tumors treated with curative intent RT at our Institute between January 2007 and December 2019 was undertaken. The primary endpoint of the study was event-free survival (EFS).
Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are an alternative to low-molecular-weight heparin for treating cancer-associated VTE.
Research Question: Is rivaroxaban as efficient and safe as dalteparin to treat patients with cancer-associated VTE?
Study Design And Methods: In a randomized open-label noninferiority trial, patients with active cancer who had proximal DVT, pulmonary embolism (PE), or both were assigned randomly to therapeutic doses of rivaroxaban or dalteparin for 3 months. The primary outcome was the cumulative incidence of recurrent VTE, a composite of symptomatic or incidental DVT or PE, and worsening of pulmonary vascular or venous obstruction at 3 months.
Introduction: External fixators are a part of the therapeutic arsenal used in the correction of complex pediatric lower limb deformities. These long iterative procedures, which are commonly performed over several months, strongly impact the lives of these children and their families. To reduce these drawbacks, we perform, whenever possible, a simultaneous multisegmental and/or multifocal correction of these deformities.

Objective: To assess features of ophthalmic disease specific to EVD.
Background: Infections related to intravenous drug use and opioid use disorders (OUDs) are increasing nationwide. Endocarditis is a recognized complication of intravenous drug use, and inpatient treatment typically focuses on infection management without attention to underlying addiction.
Objective: A comprehensive intervention for inpatients with infective endocarditis and intravenous drug use was implemented by a multidisciplinary team at a large midwestern hospital.
Purpose: This study aimed to report the 2-year surgical outcomes in terms of efficacy and safety of the relatively new, indigenously manufactured, low-cost nonvalved drainage device Aurolab Aqueous Drainage Implant (AADI) in the management of refractory glaucomas in the Indian population.
Methods: A retrospective review of consecutive patients older than 12 years, who underwent nonvalved glaucoma drainage device surgery via AADI, was performed by a single fellowship-trained surgeon, between January 2014 and January 2018, who had at least 12 months of documented postoperative follow-up.
Outcome Measures: Primary-intraocular pressure (IOP).

Hallux rigidus is a painful condition of the great toe characterized by restriction of the metatarsophalangeal range of motion and progressive osteophyte formation. Many etiologies have been postulated including excessive length of the first ray, trauma, abnormally elevated first metatarsal and a positive family history. However, most cases are likely idiopathic.

When pharmacotherapy and/or laser interventions are unsuccessful, then the surgical management hitherto most commonly undertaken is pars plana posterior vitrectomy.

In this study, we propose a novel metalens that integrates the function of a concentrating lens and linear polarizer. For this lens, focus can only be formed under the incidence of designed linear polarization, and its focusing effect is significantly suppressed upon the incidence of the orthogonal polarization.

New antibody-based therapies may offer potential to target biofilm specific components for host-cell mediated bacterial clearance. For Pseudomonas aeruginosa, human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting the Psl biofilm exopolysaccharide exhibit protective activity against planktonic bacteria in acute infection models.

Combined with a liquid suspension of conductive polymer, such a "rotary coater" enables simple coating of planar samples to create a physical protective barrier on the sample surface. This barrier aids in charge dissipation during scanning electron microscope and focused ion beam (FIB) imaging and provides wide-scale protection of the sample surface from ion bombardment during FIB imaging and gas-assisted deposition.

As an organization with over 4,000 volunteers and a nationwide scope, the change process was a challenge but resulted in benefits that fit the organizations' values. The social change model for leadership development (Higher Education Research Institute, ) was used as a guiding framework.
