Purpose Of Review: To examine the effects and interactions between gut microbia and chronic pain.
Recent Findings: The gut microbiome has been an area of interest in both the scientific and general audience due to a growing body of evidence suggesting its influence in a variety of health and disease states. Communication between the central nervous system (CNS) and gut microbiome is said to be bidirectional, in what is referred to as the gut-brain axis.
Headaches and facial pain are highly prevalent diseases but are often difficult to treat. Though there have been significant advances in medical management, many continue to suffer from refractory pain. Neuromodulation has been gaining interest for its therapeutic purposes in many chronic pain conditions, including headaches and facial pain.

Background: Depression is common in caregivers of children with asthma and is associated with poor outcomes in their child. No prior studies have longitudinally examined caregiver depression remission as a predictor of improvement in child asthma control.
Objective: This 2-site study examined whether the proportion of time a caregiver was in depression remission predicted subsequent child asthma control at exit.
Purpose: Planning complex operations such as robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy requires surgeons to review 2-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) cross-sectional images to understand 3-dimensional (3D), patient-specific anatomy. We sought to determine surgical outcomes for robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy when surgeons reviewed 3D, virtual reality (VR) models for operative planning.

Background: Pediatric asthma is associated with increased health services utilization, missed school days, and diminished quality of life. Children with asthma also report more frequent depressive and anxiety symptoms than children without asthma, which may further worsen asthma outcomes.
Objective: The current study investigated the relationship between depressive and anxiety symptoms and 4 asthma outcomes (asthma control, asthma severity, lung function, and asthma-related quality of life) in children (N = 205) with moderate to severe persistent asthma.
