Unusual Case of a Torted Mesenteric Fibroid.

Extrauterine leiomyomas are very rare and present a clinical and diagnostic challenge due to their unusual growth patterns and behaviours. A 47-year-old woman was transferred to our tertiary specialist obstetrics and gynaecology hospital with acute abdominal pain and a palpable abdominal mass. She was taken immediately to theatre with the presumptive diagnosis of an ovarian torsion.
