This study aimed to determine whether the presentation of UTUC can guide investigation of NVH in patients under 60 years old.
Methods: All patients investigated at our one-stop haematuria clinics under a cancer pathway were reviewed during a 5-year period, with all patients undergoing cystoscopy and upper-tract imaging.

Serum anti-HLA-I IgG are present in non-alloimmunized males, cancer patients, and transplant recipients. Anti-HLA-I antibodies are also present in intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg), prepared from the plasma of thousands of healthy donors. View Article and Find Full Text PDFDeprivation of oestrogen during post-ovulatory mated cycles in proven fertile female bonnet monkeys by tamoxifen, aromatase inhibitor or oestrogen antiserum resulted in inhibition of pregnancy establishment in all three groups of animals. However, more than 85% of the animals became pregnant within three exposures to proven fertile males in the control group. These results suggest the requirement for oestrogen in pregnancy establishment in primates.

The oxygen consumption decreased significantly in both toxicants exposed to acute toxicity. Objective: Complement restriction factors (CD46, membrane cofactor; CD55, decay accelerating factor; and CD59, protectin) are overexpressed on tumor cells, and they enable tumor cells to escape from complement-dependent and antibody-mediated killing. Cell-surface density of complement restriction factors (CRFs) on oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is compared with that found on other solid tumors (breast, pancreas, colon carcinomas, and melanoma) to understand the significance of their diversity.
Study Design: The cell-surface expression of CRFs on tumor cells was confirmed with confocal laser scan fluorescent microscopy.
Introduction: Audit of inguinal hernia repair is important in view of the magnitude of the problem and the fact that it is a common operation often performed by surgical trainees. Due to the disparity of the results of various workers with regard to the rate of complications, individual surgeons have been advised to audit their patients' outcomes.
Method: Retrospective audit was performed, of all the inguinal hernias repaired between 1997 and 2003 inclusive, at two rural hospitals in northern Scotland, under a single consultant.
Background: Tumor cells can escape complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) by expressing complement restriction factors (CRFs), CD46, CD55 and CD59. CRF-expression in non-neoplastic mucosa of the head and neck was compared with biopsies of the head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and cell lines derived from oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC).
Methods: Normal mucosa and HNSCC tumor tissue (poor, moderate, or well differentiated) specimens were immunostained with anti-CRF monoclonal antibodies.
