Introduction: Contamination of drinking water by can cause serious diseases, including cancer. The determinants of the infection rate are socioeconomic status, low standard of living and overcrowding. In addition, exposure to environmental sources contaminated with feces, such as water and vegetables, is another risk factor for infection.

- - Key risk factors for acquiring STIs among MSM included alcohol use during sex, forgetting to use condoms, and engaging in sexual activity with casual partners, indicating a strong correlation between these behaviors and the rise in STI prevalence amid the MPOX outbreak.
Carbapenemases are one of the major mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, usually due to the indiscriminate use of antibiotics. The expansion of this mechanism of resistance at world level is imminent and control measures are limited. In the region of the Central Sierra of Peru - Huancayo, we report a case of carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae, with the purpose of discussing the problems related to this emerging mechanism of antibiotic resistance.
