Beyond the mouth: Uncovering non-secretory multiple myeloma through oral symptoms.

Non-secretory multiple myeloma (NSMM) is a rare cancer of plasma cells characterized by the absence of detectable monoclonal M protein in the blood or urine. A 57-year-old woman presented with mandibular pain but without intraoral swelling. Imaging studies revealed multiple osteolytic lesions in her mandible and pronounced root resorption of the left mandibular second molar.

Influence of design implant and apical depth in post-extraction sockets: an in vitro simulated study.

Background: Implant design and apical stability are principal parameters involved in achieving successful primary stability. Using polyurethane models to simulate post-extraction sockets, we investigated the effects of using differing blade designs on the primary stability of tapered implants and the impact of apical depth.

Method: Six polyurethane blocks were used to simulate post-extraction pockets.

Job satisfaction and burnout among oral healthcare providers within the Unified Health System in Sobral, Ceará, Brazil.

Background: The particular characteristics of oral health care might influence job satisfaction and occurrence of burnout among providers, with consequent impact on their quality of life and the quality of care delivery. In the present study, we analyzed job satisfaction among oral healthcare providers affiliated with the public health service in Sobral, Ceará, Brazil, work-related factors and prevalence of burnout.

Methods: Cross-sectional study performed in 2017 with 95 oral healthcare providers allocated to primary and secondary care facilities.
