Importance: Personalized treatment choices would increase the effectiveness of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) for depression to the extent that patients differ in interventions that better suit them.

Objective: To provide personalized estimates of short-term and long-term relative efficacy of guided and unguided iCBT for depression using patient-level information.

Data Sources: We searched PubMed, Embase, PsycInfo, and Cochrane Library to identify randomized clinical trials (RCTs) published up to January 1, 2019.

Study Question: Is there an association between 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) exposure and fecundability and infertility among Seveso women and their daughters?

Summary Answer: TCDD exposure is associated with a decrease in fecundability and increased risk of infertility in women, as well as their daughters.

What Is Known Already: In animal studies, maternal exposure to TCDD is associated with decreased fertility in offspring. Effects of TCDD are mediated by activation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) pathway.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae MBOAT O-acyltransferase Gup1 is involved in many processes, including cell wall and membrane composition and integrity, and acetic acid-induced cell death. Gup1 was previously shown to interact physically with the mitochondrial membrane VDAC (Voltage-Dependent Anion Channel) protein Por1 and the ammonium transceptor Mep2. By co-immunoprecipitation, the eisosome core component Pil1 was identified as a novel physical interaction partner of Gup1.

All aspects of mRNA lifetime and function, including its stability, translation into protein, and trafficking through the cell, are tightly regulated through coordinated post-transcriptional modifications and interactions with a multitude of RNA effector proteins. Despite the increasing recognition of RNA regulation as a critical layer of mammalian gene expression control and its increasing excitement as a therapeutic target, tools to study and control RNA regulatory mechanisms with temporal precision in their endogenous environment are lacking. Here, we present small molecule-inducible RNA-targeting effectors based on our previously developed CRISPR/Cas-inspired RNA targeting system (CIRTS).

Anxiety sensitivity is a potential risk factor for posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) and has been hypothesized to contribute to PTSS development. However, few prospective studies have evaluated whether anxiety sensitivity predicts PTSS. In a subsample of 48 women sexual assault survivors enrolled as part of a larger prospective observational study, elevated anxiety sensitivity measured via a brief assessment 1 week after experiencing a sexual assault was concurrently associated with PTSS at 1 week and prospectively predicted PTSS 6 weeks after the event, with small-to-medium effect sizes, η = .

Unlabelled: In utero exposure to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) is associated with delayed pubertal development in animal studies. No epidemiologic study has investigated this association. We examined the relationship of in utero exposure to TCDD with reported age at onset of menarche in female children born to a unique cohort of TCDD-exposed women resulting from an explosion in Seveso, Italy, on 10 July 1976.

Background: This is the first report on the association between trauma exposure and depression from the dvancing nderstanding of ecvery afte traum(AURORA) multisite longitudinal study of adverse post-traumatic neuropsychiatric sequelae (APNS) among participants seeking emergency department (ED) treatment in the aftermath of a traumatic life experience.

Methods: We focus on participants presenting at EDs after a motor vehicle collision (MVC), which characterizes most AURORA participants, and examine associations of participant socio-demographics and MVC characteristics with 8-week depression as mediated through peritraumatic symptoms and 2-week depression.

Results: Eight-week depression prevalence was relatively high (27.

Malignant lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of malignancies that develop both in nodal and extranodal sites. The different tissues involved and the highly variable clinicopathological characteristics are linked to the association between the lymphoid neoplastic cells and the tissues they infiltrate. The immune system has developed mechanisms to protect the normal tissue from malignant growth.

The unprecedented effects and duration of the COVID-19 crisis are likely to elevate the population's level of anxiety due to psychological stress, economic hardship, and social isolation. This effect may be especially potent for individuals with preexisting mental health conditions, such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy is a highly effective treatment for PTSD across trauma-exposed populations, and has been implemented effectively via telehealth.

To elucidate patterns of and risk factors for acute traumatic injuries in climbers in need of professional rescue, a retrospective evaluation was performed of the Austrian National Registry of Mountain Accidents regarding rock climbing incidents over a 13-year timeframe from 2005 to 2018. From 2992 recorded incidents, 1469 were uninjured but in need of recovery, mainly when alpine climbing. Acute traumatic injuries ( = 1217) were often classified as severe (UIAA ≥ 3; = 709), and commonly involved fractures ( = 566).

Background: Approximately, 100,000 US women receive emergency care after sexual assault each year, but no large-scale study has examined the incidence of posttraumatic sequelae, receipt of health care, and frequency of assault disclosure to providers. The current study evaluated health outcomes and service utilization among women in the 6 weeks after sexual assault.

Methods: Women ≥18 years of age presenting for emergency care after sexual assault to twelve sites were approached.

The relationship between respiratory system mechanics, lung ultrasound (LUS) abnormalities, and mortality in mechanically ventilated patients with COVID-19-associated respiratory failure is unknown. We assessed the pattern of respiratory mechanics and LUS, their changes over time, and the differences between survivors and non-survivors. We additionally analyzed the relationship between LUS findings and the severity of gas exchange impairment and interleukin 6 (IL-6).

Leveraging technology to provide evidence-based therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as prolonged exposure (PE), during the COVID-19 pandemic helps ensure continued access to first-line PTSD treatment. Clinical video teleconferencing (CVT) technology can be used to effectively deliver PE while reducing the risk of COVID-19 exposure during the pandemic for both providers and patients. However, provider knowledge, experience, and comfort level with delivering mental health care services, such as PE, via CVT is critical to ensure a smooth, safe, and effective transition to virtual care.

Latinx adolescents are at a disproportional risk for poor sexual and reproductive health outcomes (STIs, adolescent pregnancy) compared to other ethnic groups. They also report high rates of alcohol and drug use that are similar to non-Hispanic White youth. The hormonal underpinnings of the emergence of sex and substance use behaviors among Latinx adolescents remain understudied however.

Superior semicircular canal dehiscence is a bony defect of the superior semicircular canal, which can lead to a variety of auditory and vestibular symptoms. The diagnosis of superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SCD) can be challenging, time consuming, and costly. The clinical presentation of SCD patients resembles that of other otologic disease, necessitating objective diagnostics.

Although prolonged exposure (PE) and SSRI antidepressants are effective in treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), previous studies have shown that some symptoms tend to persist. The current study compared sertraline hydrochloride plus enhanced medication management (EMM), PE plus placebo, or PE plus sertraline hydrochloride in the likelihood of each individual PTSD symptom persisting in veterans with a PTSD diagnosis. We compared the likelihood of individual PTSD symptoms persisting in those with versus without a PTSD diagnosis at posttreatment.
