Hybrid RNA:DNA origami, in which a long RNA scaffold strand folds into a target nanostructure via thermal annealing with complementary DNA oligos, has only been explored to a limited extent despite its unique potential for biomedical delivery of mRNA, tertiary structure characterization of long RNAs, and fabrication of artificial ribozymes. Here, we investigate design principles of three-dimensional wireframe RNA-scaffolded origami rendered as polyhedra composed of dual-duplex edges. We computationally design, fabricate, and characterize tetrahedra folded from an EGFP-encoding messenger RNA and de Bruijn sequences, an octahedron folded with M13 transcript RNA, and an octahedron and pentagonal bipyramids folded with 23S ribosomal RNA, demonstrating the ability to make diverse polyhedral shapes with distinct structural and functional RNA scaffolds.

As genetic technologies are not generally available in countries with limited resources, clinical parameters may be still necessary to use in predicting the prognosis of the disease. This study aimed to identify prognostic factors associated with survival of patients with HGG.

This study aimed to use clinical parameters to develop a nomogram to predict survival of patients with diffuse astrocytoma (DA) which is the most common type of low-grade glioma. Retrospective data of adult patients with DA from three university hospitals in Thailand were analyzed.

This study was aimed to investigate the incidence and determine a predictive model for early PTS. A prospective cohort study of 484 TBI patients was conducted.

Clinical parameters to predict intracranial lesions vary among guidelines. This study intended to find clinical parameters that can predict traumatic intracranial lesions in the setting of a middle-income country.

The sequence design of the DNA staple strands needed to fold the long scaffold strand to the target geometry is typically performed manually, limiting the broad application of this materials design paradigm. Here, we present a fully autonomous procedure to design all DNA staple sequences needed to fold any free-form 2D scaffolded DNA origami wireframe object.

Several hypotheses have been proposed, and the pathophysiology of coexisting tumors has long been debated; however, due to low incidence, standard practices for this scenario are still inconclusive.
Case Description: The authors describe 6 cases of coexisting tumors.
Background: The current prognosis of medulloblastoma in children is better because of technological advancements and improvements in treatment strategies and genetic investigations. However, there is a lack of studies that focus on medulloblastoma in Thailand. The aims of our study were to conduct a survival analysis and to identify the prognostic factors of pediatric medulloblastoma.

However, ssDNA synthesis strategies are limited by the maximum length attainable, ranging from a few hundred nucleotides for chemical synthesis to a few thousand nucleotides for enzymatic synthesis, as well as limited control over nucleotide composition. Here, we apply purely enzymatic synthesis to generate ssDNA greater than 15 kilobases (kb) using asymmetric PCR, and illustrate the incorporation of diverse modified nucleotides for therapeutic and theranostic applications.

Objective: The objective of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics and outcomes of the butterfly tumor and to identify the predictive factors associated with survival outcome.
Synthetic DNA is a highly programmable nanoscale material that can be designed to self-assemble into 3D structures that are fully determined by underlying Watson-Crick base pairing. The double crossover (DX) design motif has demonstrated versatility in synthesizing arbitrary DNA nanoparticles on the 5-100 nm scale for diverse applications in biotechnology. Prior computational investigations of these assemblies include all-atom and coarse-grained modeling, but modeling their conformational dynamics remains challenging due to their long relaxation times and associated computational cost.

The present article details the minimum hygiene requirements for reprocessing of endoscopes and endoscopic devices, regardless of the reprocessing method (automated washer-disinfector or manual cleaning) and the endoscopy setting (endoscopy suite, operating room, elective or emergency procedures). These minimum requirements are mandatory for patient safety.

However, the approach is limited by the need to forward-design specific Watson-Crick base pairing manually for any given target structure. Here, we report a general, top-down strategy to design nearly arbitrary DNA architectures autonomously based only on target shape.

The results were similar to the reaction caused by standard Raney scalp clips, indicating that this hair clip may be a useful local alternative to imported scalp clips. Clinical trials confirmed the safety of this type of clip in a series of craniotomy procedures.

Methods: The CPG was developed by a local multidisciplinary team and implemented using multi-faceted methods. The outcome of patients with head injury from three community hospitals and a university hospital (Songklanagarind Hospital) was reported in terms of "talk and deteriorate" patients and a "poor" outcome for patients with severe head injury.
The objective of this study was to determine whether non-shaved patients undergoing ventriculoperitoneal shunt operations would experience a significantly increased shunt infection rate as compared to shaved patients. Clinical trials of non-shaved scalp preparation were performed in ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedures at Songklanagarind Hospital from January 1994 to December 1999. Exclusion criteria were poor scalp condition, previous shunt procedures and immunocompromised hosts.

However, there is no absolute agreement regarding the level at which ICP must be treated. The objective of this study was to compare the outcomes of severe head injury patients treated by setting the ICP threshold at >or=20 mm Hg or >or=25 mm Hg.

Of 337 severe head injury patients admitted to Songklanagarind Hospital during 1994 to 1997, 30 were identified as 'talked and deteriorated'. Most deterioration was due to intracranial haematomas.
