Mesenteric teratomas are extremely rare in children. We report a case of 5-year-old girl with abdominal mass and fever. At operation, a multicystic mass with variable consistency found within the leaves of the mesentery of jejunum with pus in it.

A 12-year-old previously healthy boy, presented to the emergency room with the complaint of severe abdominal pain for the last 6-8 hours. These tumors may be benign or malignant and complete excision of the tumor in either case carries a good prognosis. The child presented with an acute intestinal obstruction and the etiology of the obstruction was only discovered at surgery, even though preoperative abdominal sonography had hinted at the presence of a mesenteric lesion. An excision of the cyst, along with part of the involved bowel, was performed and was curative.
