Despite the great importance of Aureobasidium pullulans in biotechnology, the fungus had emerged as an opportunistic human pathogen, especially among immunocompromised patients. Clinical detection of this rare human fungal pathogen presently relies on morphology diagnosis which may be misleading. Thus, a sensitive and accurate quantitative molecular assay for A.

ZINBA (Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial Algorithm) identifies genomic regions enriched in a variety of ChIP-seq and related next-generation sequencing experiments (DNA-seq), calling both broad and narrow modes of enrichment across a range of signal-to-noise ratios. ZINBA models and accounts for factors that co-vary with background or experimental signal, such as G/C content, and identifies enrichment in genomes with complex local copy number variations. ZINBA provides a single unified framework for analyzing DNA-seq experiments in challenging genomic contexts.

Problem: The pre-requisite of successful implantation involves an intricate cascade of molecular interactions which plays a crucial role in preparing receptive endometrium and implanting blastocyst.

Method Of Study: Data are hereby presented for a better understanding of endometrial receptivity in women, hoping to provide a comprehensive picture of the process and identify new areas of basic and translational research in the biology of blastocyst implantation.

Results: Timely regulation of the expression of a number of complex molecules like hormones, cytokines and growth factors, and their crosstalk from embryonic and maternal endometrial side play a major role in determining the fate of the embryo.

The secondary structure of RNA pseudoknots has been extensively inferred and scrutinized by computational approaches. Experimental methods for determining RNA structure are time consuming and tedious; therefore, predictive computational approaches are required. Predicting the most accurate and energy-stable pseudoknot RNA secondary structure has been proven to be an NP-hard problem.

A gene encoding the xylanase from Bacillus subtilis strain R5 containing the native signal sequence was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The heterologous expression of the gene resulted in the production of the recombinant protein in the cytoplasm as well as its secretion into the culture medium. The xylanase activity in the culture medium increased with time after induction up to 90% of the total activity in 14 h.

The 2352 bp gene coding for 783 amino acid family B DNA polymerase from Pyrobaculum calidifontis was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. Expression of the gene resulted in the production of Pca-Pol in soluble fraction. After heat denaturation of the host proteins, the Pca-Pol was further purified by ion exchange and hydrophobic interaction chromatographies.

A thermophilic microorganism, SBS-4S, was isolated from a hot spring located in Gilgit, Northern Areas of Pakistan. It was found to be an aerobic, gram-positive, rod-shaped, thermophilic bacterium that grew on various sugars, carboxylic acids and hydrocarbons at temperatures between 45°C and 75°C. Complete 16S rRNA gene sequence of the microorganism exhibited homology to various species of genus Geobacillus.

The carboxypeptidase gene from Geobacillus SBS-4S was cloned and sequenced. The sequence analysis displayed the gene consists of an open reading frame of 1503 nucleotides encoding a protein of 500 amino acids (CBP(SBS)). The amino acid sequence comparison revealed that CBP(SBS) exhibited a highest homology of 41.

FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of the 2-(4-Bromophenyl)-1H-benzimidzole were recorded and analyzed in the solid phase. The optimized molecular geometry, the vibrational wavenumbers, the infrared intensities and the Raman scattering activities were calculated by using Hartree-Fock and density functional method (B3LYP) with 6-31G(d,p) basis set. The potential surface scan study was carried out for the conformation of theoretical structure.

The hydrogen production by Chlorella vulgaris exposed to four different light patterns was explored. Cultures of immobilized, sulfur-deprived cells were purged with N2 and either kept in the dark for 72 h, kept in the dark for 24 h before being exposed to light (intensity of 120 μ mole/m2/s) for 72 h, exposed to light for 72 h, or kept in the light for 24h before being subjected to darkness for 48 h. The latter condition provided for the highest total hydrogen production of 530±5 ml/l of medium and a maximum hydrogen release rate of 34.

Aerosolized prostacyclin (PGI2) produces selective pulmonary vasodilation in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). The response to PGI2 may be increased by phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitors such as milrinone. We studied the dose response effects of aerosolized PGI2 and aerosolized milrinone both alone and in combination on pulmonary and systemic hemodynamics in newborn lambs with Nomega-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME)-induced PH.
