Doxorubicin (DOX) is an antibiotic used in the treatment of various cancers. However, its clinical use is limited due to the toxic effects it causes. In several biological systems reactive oxygen species (ROS) derived from DOX metabolism have been associated with its toxicity because they can alter several signal transduction pathways.

The selection of this CD was made after screening of different CD derivatives of neutral and anionic nature. The effect on the enantioresolution of the buffer concentration and of the degree of substitution (DS) and concentration of the CD as well as of instrumental parameters, such as the capillary temperature and the separation voltage, were studied.
