Life satisfaction remains a value-based orientation and an important positive dimension of human well-being. Little is known about the relationship of this construct with palliative care patients' spiritual needs. This study assesses spiritual needs of palliative care patients and their association with life satisfaction.

Stroke Patients Motivation Influence on the Effectiveness of Occupational Therapy.

Introduction: Individuals who have experienced stroke are often described as apathetic, having lost of interest, and unmotivated. This might be a problem in achieving treatment results. It is still unclear what impact age and gender have on the motivation.

The comparison of two methods of treatment evaluating complications and deficiency of functions of hands after deep partial skin thickness hand burns.

Unlabelled: Hands actively participate in daily activities of a human; therefore, hands are the most vulnerable parts of the human body. People injure hands so often because namely hands are in the closest position to the dangerous equipment. According to the data of various authors, the injuries of hands and fingers make even 30-75% of all industrial traumas, and burns of hands account for about 6% of all traumas of hands.

The effectiveness of occupational therapy in restoring the functional state of hands in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of occupational therapy in rheumatoid arthritis patients with impaired hand function. Standardized Functional Independence Measure was employed in order to evaluate the functional status of the patients and impaired activities. A dynamometer was used for the measurements of muscular strength of hands and a goniometer, for the range of motion of the wrist.

Analysis of burned hand function (early versus delayed treatment).

Unlabelled: The aim of this study was analyze the results of hand function in adult patients with deep partial thickness hand burns. All patients were treated in Kaunas University of Medicine Hospital in Lithuania during the period 2001-2004.
