Purpose: To evaluate the copaiba oil effect on urea and creatinine levels in rats submitted to kidney ischemia and reperfusion syndrome.
Methods: Eighteen Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus albinus), aged between 90 and 120 days, weight between 200 g and 250 g, were allocated in 2 groups (n=9) and submitted to 50 minutes of renal ischemia and reperfusion and treated or not with copaiba oil (0.63 ml/kg daily seven days before ischemia).
