Background: Platelet concentrates are currently being researched for their potential to enhance bone formation.
Aim: The aim of this study is to quantitatively evaluate and compare bone regeneration in periapical lesions using a combination of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) + β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) + β-TCP.
Methods: Ten subjects with periapical lesions measuring 10-20 mm in relation to maxillary incisors indicated for periapical surgery were selected.
This study reports the development of new probes RR1 ((1)-1-(1-(6-bromo-2-oxo-2-chromen-3-yl)ethylidene)ethyl thiosemicarbazone) and RR2 ((1)-1-(1-(6-bromo-2-oxo-2-chromen-3-yl)ethylidene)phenyl thiosemicarbazone), which selectively showed fluorescence turn 'OFF' response towards Cu and Al. Further, complexes of RR1-Cu2+ and RR2-Al3+ acted as chemosensors for the detection of L-amino acids. RR1-Cu2+ selectively detected L-arginine (fluorescence turn 'ON'), and RR2-Al3+ selectively detected L-glutamic acid (fluorescence turn 'ON').

The compounds were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, H, C and P NMR, mass spectrometry and crystallographic analysis. Calf Thymus DNA (CT-DNA) binding studies revealed the intercalative mode of binding of the complexes with DNA.

The molecular structure of the ligand HL and complex 3 was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The stoichiometry of complexes 1, 2 and 4 was confirmed by high resolution mass spectroscopy (HRMS).

2,3-Dihydro-4-hydroxy-chromene-4()-ethyl thiosemicarbazone (probe ) is used as a chemosensor, and it selectively detected Cu ions among the metal ions by showing fluorescence "TURN ON" behavior. The stoichiometric binding of the probe with Cu () was confirmed by Job's plot and mass spectroscopy. Further, was used as a sensor for the detection of l-amino acids and N-heterocyclic compounds.

Aim: To evaluate the cleaning ability of two single-file rotary systems- Self-Adjusting File (SAF) and Wave one (WO) systems in removing the smear layer using sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) + ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) and NaOCl + Qmix as irrigants at apical one-third of the root canal.
Methods: Forty extracted human mandibular premolars were selected and working length was determined. The canal was manually instrumented up to a number 25 size K-file.
Microplastics (MPs) and its associated organic and inorganic contaminants are one among the significant health hazards to almost all biota, including human. We investigated the polymer hazard risk and its adsorbed contaminants in MPs at six prominent beaches of Chennai on the southeast coast of India. The spatial variation of MPs during the northeast (NE) monsoon (range: 76-720 items/kg, mean: 247.

Materials And Methods: CH-GIC was prepared by adding 10 v/v% (Group II) and 50 v/v% (Group III) CH to the commercial liquid of GIC. BAG-GIC was prepared by the addition of 10 wt% (Group IV) and 30 wt% (Group V) of BAG to the GIC powder.
Abundance, chemical composition and ecological risk of microplastics (MPs) in terrestrial and marine environments have merited substantial attention from the research communities. This is the first attempt to comprehend the ecological risk of MPs in sediments along the Indian coast using meta-data. Polymer hazard index (PHI), pollution load index (PLI) and potential ecological risk index (PERI) were used to evaluate the quality of sediments.

Materials And Methods: Forty extracted human premolars with similar range of canal curvature were selected, decoronated, working length determined and roots were divided into two groups of 20 samples each: Group I - SAF and Group II - WO. All root canals were irrigated with 3% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA).
The biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA), a process to convert C18 polyunsaturated fatty acids into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) or arachidonic acid (ARA), requires the concerted activities of two enzymes, the fatty acyl desaturase (Fads) and elongase (Elovl). This study highlights the cloning, functional characterisation and tissue expression pattern of a Fads and an Elovl from the Boddart's goggle-eyed goby (Boleophthalmus boddarti), a mudskipper species widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific region. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the cloned fads and elovl are clustered with other teleost orthologs, respectively.

The obtained CNDs are of spherical shape and are enriched with the carboxylic acid fucntionalities. CNDs exhibited a fluorescence emission at 445 nm and unveiled blue luminescence in ultraviolet excitation.

The formation and morphological properties of iron nanoparticles as a function of metallic precursor and Azadirachta indica extract concentration have been investigated. The influence of solvent over the size and texture of iron nanoparticles has also been evaluated in detail.

The objective of this study was to develop a cereal-pulse complementary food fortified with different concentrations of pumpkin powder (Cucurbita moschata), and to analyse its sensory and physic-chemical parameters. Fresh pumpkins(Cucurbita moschata) were procured from the market and dehydrated and powdered in the laboratory. Sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) and whole green gram (Vigna radiate) were germinated, dried, pulverised and combined with powdered rice (Oryza sativa) in the ratio of 2:1:1.
