A new Schiff base, 1-(E)-(4-((E) 4nitrobenzylidene) amino) phenyl)imino) methyl)naphthalen-2-ol (4NMN), was prepared from the reaction of -phenylenediamine with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 4-nitrobenzaldehyde and characterized with spectroscopic analysis. UV-VIS and NMR. Frontier molecular orbitals, molecular electrostatic potential, and chemical reactivity descriptors of the synthesized compound were studied using molecular modeling methods.

Aim: Simulators for aortic dissection diagnosis are limited by complex anatomy influencing the accuracy of point-of-care ultrasound for diagnosing aortic dissection. Therefore, this study aimed to create a healthy ascending aorta and class DeBakey, type II aortic dissection simulator as a potential point-of-care ultrasound training model.

Material And Methods: 3D mould simulators were created based on computed tomography images of one healthy and one DeBakey type II aortic dissection patient.

In this work, a three-component reaction of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxycoumarine, malononitrile, or cyanoacetate in the presence of ammonium acetate was used to form coumarin derivatives. The chemical structures of new compounds were identified by H, C NMR and an elemental analysis. These compounds were examined in vitro for their antimicrobial activity against a panel of bacterial strains.

In this study, single, mix, multilayer Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) electrospun nanofibers with epidermal growth factor (EGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) were fabricated and characterized as a biological wound dressing scaffolds. The biological activities of the synthesized scaffolds have been verified by in vitro and in vivo studies. The chemical composition finding showed that the identified functional units within the produced nanofibers (O-H and N-H bonds) are attributed to both growth factors (GFs) in the PVA nanofiber membranes.

Electrodeposition is commonly used to deposit ceramic or metal coating on metallic implants. Its utilization in depositing polymer microcapsule coating is currently being explored. However, there is no encapsulation of drug within polymer microcapsules that will enhance its chemical and biological properties.

Congenital anomalies are not only one of the main killers for infants but also one of the major causes of deaths under 5. Among congenital anomalies, Down syndrome or trisomy 21 (T-21) and neural tube defects (NTDs) are considered the most common. Expectant mothers in developing countries may not have access to or may not afford the advanced prenatal screening tests.

Intrauterine contraception is a widely used, highly effective and reversible means of birth control. One potential disadvantage with the use of intrauterine devices (IUDs) is the risk of uterine perforation. During the process of IUD insertion, there is a possibility to perforate the wall of the uterus during which health workers might injure the fundus of the uterus, due to inadequate knowledge or insufficient training.
