Recordings of wild animals were first made in the Palearctic in 1900, in the Nearctic in 1929, in Antarctica in 1934, in Asia in 1937, and in the Neotropics in the 1940s. However, systematic collecting did not begin until the 1950s. Collections of animal sound recordings serve many uses in education, entertainment, science and nature conservation.

Previously, in 37 cases a transurethral resection of bladder outlet obstruction was done and in 18 patients a pelvic lymph node dissection was performed, whereas 29 patients were without operative therapy. Mild side effects of radiation could observed in all 3 groups in nearly the same portion (59/56/65%).

The transrectal ultrasonography is suited to image the prostate like no other imaging procedure. In a palpatory suspicious prostate with an ultrasonographical echo-poor area a prostatic cancer should be suspected whereas this area in a palpatory normal prostate point to inflammatory changes. In the presence of echo-dense areas or a homogenous external gland a benign change should be assumed.

The X-ray-aimed puncture was performed on the basis of the fine needle puncture technique by means of a puncture set which we developed ourselves. When a urinary retention is present, the number of targets is great (96%), the rate of complications small.

The good results on dogs, particularly in the patch substitute group, show that the Tunica vaginalis-periorchium-substitution of defects of the urethra fulfils all the expectations wanted. From this we conclude the right to recommend the broader use of this method in man.

Manifest infections with fungi of the urinary tract are rare in comparison with bacterial diseases and therefore they are often overseen. When this is concerned a funguria must always be clarified in chronic pyelonephritis. In patients with manifest infections with fungi without pronounced renal insufficiency 5-fluorocytosin is therapeutically very well suited on account of the renal elimination.
