Epilepsy is a common condition that affects approximately 1% of the world's population, with about one-third being refractory epilepsy. Temporal lobe epilepsy is the most common type of drug-resistant epilepsy, and laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is an innovative treatment. We report a case of a 28-year-old female with pituitary adenoma who developed sensory loss after VPS placement that could be explained by disruption in thalamic pathways. A lesson learned from this case is that although VPS is a simple procedure, complications can occur.
