Background: Although underdeveloped in Iraq, telehealth was one tool used to continue health service provision during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aim: To assess women's experiences and satisfaction with gynaecological and obstetric telehealth services in Iraq during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Free telehealth services were provided by 4 obstetrician-gynaecologists associated with private clinics in 2020-2021.

A Non-operative Approach of Small Bowel Obstruction in Virgin Abdomens.

We present a compelling case of small bowel obstruction (SBO) in a 38-year-old male with a virgin abdomen, a term used to describe an individual who has not undergone prior abdominal surgery. Despite his fit and healthy status, he presented with symptoms indicative of bowel obstruction. Through a meticulous series of history-taking, comprehensive clinical examinations, and precise imaging studies, we were able to arrive at a conclusive diagnosis.

A Case Study: Incidental Finding of Human Intestinal Spirochetosis in Screening Colonoscopy.

Human intestinal spirochetosis (HIS) is a rare occurrence. We present an interesting case study on an asymptomatic over-60-year-old male who was incidentally discovered to have HIS following a colonoscopy that was conducted for his positive fecal occult blood test (FOBT). Histopathology of the colonic biopsy proved the presence of human intestinal spirochetosis; however, as he was asymptomatic, treatment was not initiated in his case.

Ascending Colon Schwannoma: A Rare Submucosal Tumour.

We present a rare case of schwannoma in the ascending colon of a 60-year-old female with dyslipidemia. A series of diagnostic procedures, including colonoscopy and CT colonography, led to the successful robotic-assisted right hemicolectomy. Histological and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed the diagnosis of schwannoma, and the patient achieved a complete recovery post-surgery.

Gallbladder Paraganglioma: A Mysterious Histological Finding.

Gallbladder paragangliomas are extremely rare with only a handful of cases reported so far. There are no definitive guidelines for the management of gallbladder paragangliomas due to their rarity. We present a case of a 53-year-old male who was found to have gallbladder paraganglioma post-laparoscopic cholecystectomy, performed for right upper abdominal pain.

Robot-assisted general surgery is safe during the learning curve: a 5-year Australian experience.

Robot-assisted general surgery has become increasingly common in the Australian public sector since 2003. It provides significant technical advantages compared to laparoscopic surgery. Currently, it is estimated that the learning curve for surgeons starting off with robotic surgery is complete after 15 cases.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the ongoing pandemic with multitude of manifestations and association of ABO blood group in South-East Asian population needs to be explored.

Methods: It was a retrospective study of patients with COVID-19. Blood group A, B, O, and AB were identified in every participant, irrespective of their RH type and allotted groups 1, 2,3, and 4, respectively.

Post-cardiac injury syndrome: An evidence-based approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Post-cardiac injury syndrome (PCIS) is an umbrella term used for the post-pericardiotomy syndrome, post-myocardial infarction (MI) related pericarditis (Dressler syndrome), and post-traumatic pericarditis (percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) placement). All these conditions give rise to PCIS due to an inciting cardiac injury to pericardial or pleural mesothelial cells, leading to subsequent inflammation syndromes ranging from uncomplicated pericarditis to massive pleural effusion. We did a literature search on MEDLINE/PubMed for relevant studies using the terms "post-acute cardiac injury syndrome", "post-cardiac injury syndrome", "post-cardiotomy syndrome", "post-pericardiotomy syndrome", "post-MI pericarditis" and to summarize the body of evidence, all relevant full texts were selected and incorporated in a narrative fashion.

Our study aimed to investigate the outcomes and survival analysis following mechanical circulatory support (MCS) in patients after VSR who develop cardiogenic shock.

Methods: We analyzed 27 patients with post-MI VSR and cardiogenic shock who received deferred surgical repair while stabilized on MCS between January 2018 and March 2020.

Small bowel evisceration through the vagina is a rare surgical emergency that requires urgent surgical intervention because of the risk of developing acute small bowel ischemia. We present a case of a 91 year old female presenting with acute small bowel evisceration with majority of her small bowel visible outside the vagina. The bowel wall was edematous requiring emergent laparotomy and reduction of bowel with repair of the vaginal vault.

Background: Successful implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in kidney transplantation requires multidisciplinary consultation, education and attention to protocol. This study discusses the process implementation pathway of the ERAS protocol and its outcome.
