Intercropping is a traditional and widely used planting pattern, and different intercropped plants have differences in spatial distribution and morphological structure compared with monoculture. Therefore, intercropping can realize efficient acquisition of limited space resources and efficient conversion of existing resources by utilizing the principle of niche complementarity of composite groups, weakening interspecific or intra-specific competition, and enhancing their complementary growth. Intercropping of Chinese medicinal material(CMM) has experienced the evolution of more than two thousand years from its founding to inheritance and development.

This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal changes in coronary arteries using CCTA and to determine their association with MACEs in patients with thoracic malignancies receiving chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included consecutive patients with thoracic malignancies who received chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy and who underwent CCTA between June 2013 and May 2019 at Chongqing University Cancer Hospital.
Background: The role of the vitamin D receptor single nucleotide polymorphism FOKI (VDR-FOKI) (rs2228570) in genetic susceptibility to type 2 diabetic kidney disease (T2DKD) remains uncertain. This study investigated the relationship between VDR-FOKI and T2DKD within the Chinese Plateau Han population and analyzed the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 316 subjects were enrolled, including 44 healthy adults, 114 individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and 158 patients with T2DKD.
The singlet oxygen carrier addresses the challenges of traditional photodynamic therapy (PDT), which relies on the presence of oxygen within solid tumors and struggles with light penetration issues. However, the inability to control the release of singlet oxygen has hindered precise treatment applications. Here, we introduce an acid-responsive singlet oxygen nanodepot (aSOND) designed to overcome this limitation.

Although physical exercise is an important means of effectively alleviating the psychological health of female college students, and there may be a close relationship between coping styles and psychological resilience with physical exercise and psychological health, specific ways to promote the psychological health of female college students by influencing their coping styles and enhancing their psychological resilience have yet to be explored.
Methods: The present study employed a cross-sectional design to investigate a sample of Chinese undergraduate female college students.
Taihang is an indigenous breed in Hebei Province and has a long history of evolution. To uncover the genetic basis and protect the genetic resources, it is important to develop accurate markers to identify Taihang at the molecular level. In this study, a total of 137 individuals from Taihang and other 4 breeds were selected to construct a genome-wide SNP map.

While previous research has highlighted the influence of light spectra on the growth, feeding rate, and various physiological characteristics of , its impact on the biochemical composition of this species remains unclear. Herein, we investigated the proximate, fatty acid, and amino acid compositions of cultured under various light spectra, including white, violet, blue, cyan, green, yellow, red, and darkness.

The gut microbiota and its metabolites have been shown to affect the functioning of the gut and central nervous system through the microbiota-gut-brain axis. It is well established that microbiota play significant roles in the pathogenesis and progression of Parkinson's disease (PD).

In this paper, experts address crucial gaps in assessing and managing moderate UC. The Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa Inflammatory Bowel Disease Coalition comprised 24 experts who convened to share, discuss and vote electronically on management recommendations for moderate UC.

Methods: In a retrospective study 468 female breast cancer patients were analyzed from 2017 to 2020 at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. Patients were grouped into high-grade (n = 215) and low-grade (n = 253) categories based on pathological evaluation.
Immunoassay methods, notably enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs), renowned for their signal amplification capabilities, are extensively employed in scientific research and clinical diagnostics. However, the instability of enzymes and their sensitivity to cellular environments present significant challenges for the broad application of ELISA in living cells. In this work, we present a bioorthogonal (poly)catalysis-linked immunosorbent assay (BCLISA) designed for the detection of cell membrane antigens, which involves coupling bioorthogonal catalysts based on small molecules or polymers to antibodies.

Introduction: Although there are well-defined guidelines for the management of mild-to-moderate ulcerative colitis (UC), there are still unmet needs. For this reason, we conducted an international expert consensus to standardize the management of patients with mild-to-moderate UC and provide practical guidance to clinicians.
Areas Covered: Based on Delphi methodology, 15 statements were approved after two rounds of voting, addressing several aspects of disease management from sequencing to treatment duration, from monitoring to optimization techniques and safety profile.
Conductive hydrogels with excellent mechanical properties, a broad detection range, and stability in complex environments have remained a significant challenge for the development of flexible sensors. In this study, a straightforward freeze-thaw cycles strategy was developed to fabricate a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/carrageenan (CA)/calcium chloride (CaCl)/MXene-based double network organohydrogel (PCCME) for highly flexible and responsive strain detection across a broad temperature spectrum. The PCCME organohydrogel features multiple interactive forces including hydrogen bonding, ionic interactions, and microphase crystallization, which contribute to the organohydrogel's exceptional mechanical and electrical performance.

In the present work, a series of complex interfacial structures were designed by combining Tween 80 in the aqueous phase and lecithin in the oil phase at different concentration ratios. The emulsification properties, the roles in regulating lipid digestion, and the interfacial dilatational rheological properties of the composite emulsifying systems were characterized.

Background: The current investigation examines the association between artificial sweetener (AS) consumption and the likelihood of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD), along with its impact on kidney function.
Methods: We utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2003-2006 to conduct covariance analysis and weighted adjusted logistic regression, aiming to assess the association between artificial sweetener intake and CKD risk, as well as kidney function indicators. Subsequently, we employed Mendelian randomization methods to validate the causal relationship between the intake of artificial sweeteners, CKD risk, and kidney function indicators.
