[Surveillance of Chromium(VI) Concentrations in Mineral Water Products].

We developed and evaluated a method of quantifying chromium(VI) in mineral water (MW). After a performance evaluation, we performed a surveillance of chromium(VI) concentrations in 150 kinds of MW products purchased from markets in 2016. Recovery rates, as examined by using 150 spiked samples prepared from the purchased MW products, ranged from 93 to 107%.

Resistant Maltodextrin Decreases Micellar Solubility of Lipids and Diffusion of Bile Salt Micelles and Suppresses Incorporation of Micellar Fatty Acids into Caco-2 Cells.

Several studies have suggested that resistant maltodextrin (RMD) suppresses intestinal lipid absorption in experimental animals and humans. However, possible mechanisms underlying this effect are not known. In this study, effects of RMD on processes of the absorption of various lipids were investigated in vitro.

Effects of heat-killed Lactobacillus pentosus S-PT84 on postprandial hypertriacylglycerolemia in rats.

The effect of Lactobacillus pentosus strain S-PT84 (S-PT84) on postprandial hypertriacylglycerolemia was investigated in rats. S-PT84 dose-dependently inhibited the hydrolysis of triacylglycerols by pancreatic lipase in vitro. Intragastric administration of S-PT84 significantly reduced the lymphatic recovery of (3)H-trioleoylglycerol up to 8 h.
