In recent years, cancer immunotherapy has received widespread attention due to significant tumor clearance in some malignancies. Various immunotherapy approaches, including vaccines, immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic virotherapy, bispecific T cell engagers, and adoptive T cell transfer, have completed or are undergoing clinical trials for prostate cancer. Despite immune checkpoint blockade's extraordinary effectiveness in treating a variety of cancers, targeted prostate cancer treatment using the immune system is still in its infancy.

In current study, a tumor microenvironment modulatory hydrogel was successfully developed to treat melanoma by taking advantage of the synergistic effects of nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) with well-documented selective anti-tumor action, lactate dehydrogenase A inhibitor (R)-GNE-140 (GNE), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) sensitive peptide. The hydrogel was acquired by the reaction of 4-arm-polyethylene glycol-maleic anhydride (4-arm-PEG-MAL) and MMP-2 sensitive peptide (CC-14), in which nHA and GNE were co-encapsulated physically.

We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of these supplementary agents in patients with ASCVD receiving statin.
Methods: We performed a systematic review and frequentist network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Background: Sex steroid hormones, including testosterone and estradiol, play significant roles in various aspects of pulmonary health and diseases. However, although there were a few studies trying to link sex hormones with COPD, their effect remained limited due to small sample size and insufficient causal results. This study aims to investigate the association between sex hormones and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) based on the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database and evaluate causality via a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR).

This study was to compare the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo), and functional connectivity (FC) between the ISS phenotype and the INS phenotype.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 55 patients with insomnia disorder were recruited, and 22 of them were defined as the ISS phenotype by the objective cardiopulmonary coupling (CPC) technique.
In this study, the possibility of an auto-aggregating bacterium Pseudomonas strain XL-2 with heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification capacity for improving granulation and nitrogen removal was evaluated. The results showed that the supplementation of strain XL-2 promoted granulation, making R1 (experimental group with strain XL-2) dominated by granules at 14 d, which was 12 days earlier than R2 (control group without strain XL-2). This was attributed to the promotion of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) secretion, particularly proteins by adding strain XL-2, thereby improving the hydrophobicity of sludge and altering the proteins secondary structures to facilitate aggregation.

Glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) is a triterpenoid with multiple biological effects, such as anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties. Herein, inhalable milk-derived extracellular vesicles (mEVs) encapsulating GA (mEVs@GA) were screened and evaluated for IPF treatment.

This paper proposes a freeway vehicle early warning method based on risk map to enhance vehicle safety. Firstly, Modified Time-to-Collision (MTTC), a two-dimensional indicator that describes the risk of inter-vehicle travel, is used as an indicator of road traffic risk.

Despite the brilliance of HEOs in energy conversion and storage applications, there is still lacking a comprehensive review for both entry-level and experienced researchers, which succinctly encapsulates the present status and the challenges inherent to HEOs, spanning structural features, intrinsic properties, prevalent synthetic methodologies, and diversified applications in rechargeable batteries. Within this review, the endeavor is to distill the structural characteristics, ionic conductivity, and entropy stabilization effects, explore the practical applications of HEOs in the realm of rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and lithium-sulfur batteries), including anode and cathode materials, electrolytes, and electrocatalysts.

Rapid isolation of EVs with low cost is an essential precondition for downstream function exploration and clinical applications. In this work, we designed a novel EVs isolation device based on the boronated organic framework (BOF) coated recyclable microfluidic chip (named EVs-BD) to separate EVs from cell culture media.

Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search (from database creation date to March 2024) for relevant English articles on sMRI or/and fMRI-based ML techniques for diagnosing ADHD. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio (LR+), negative likelihood ratio (LR-), summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve and area under the curve (AUC) were calculated to assess the diagnostic value of sMRI or/and fMRI-based ML techniques.
With the continuous advancement of urban renewal, the application of recycled aggregates (RA) is a win-win measure to solve the treatment of construction waste and provide the required building materials. However, the existence of a large amount of old adhesive mortar (OAM) makes it difficult for RA to equivalently replace natural aggregates (NA) due to their higher water absorption and crushing index, as well as a lower apparent density. From the published literature on enhancing RA, the most mature and easiest method for construction is physical enhancement technology.

Drugs are an effective way to treat various diseases. Some diseases are so complicated that the effect of a single drug for such diseases is limited, which has led to the emergence of combination drug therapy. The use multiple drugs to treat these diseases can improve the drug efficacy, but it can also bring adverse effects.

Early GCW studies often used simple subsurface hydraulic properties, such as anisotropic homogeneous aquifers or low conductivity lens/blocks, to mimic the complex subsurface heterogeneity. Although studies based on simplified representations of aquifer heterogeneity provide straightforward flow and transport information for engineering design of a GCW, they may over- or under-estimate contaminant fate and transport in the field.

This paper reports a spin-disc paper-based device with 10 individual detection units containing electromagnetic modules controlling the sample incubation time before chemiluminescence (CL) signal detection. After the sample was added to the top paper chip and incubated with the enzyme, the electromagnet was turned off to allow contact between the top and bottom paper. The HO generated by the sample flowed vertically to the bottom paper and initiated the oxidase of the luminol to generate the CL signal.
