Objective: Perioperative shivering is a very common complication. Despite the vast array of knowledge regarding perioperative shivering and its after-effects, its prophylaxis is often overlooked. The study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of low-dose ketamine, ondansetron, and pethidine in the prevention of perioperative shivering in patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery under the subarachnoid block.

Background: "Code blue" (CB) is a popular hospital emergency code, which is used by hospitals to alert their emergency response team of any cardiorespiratory arrest. The factors affecting the outcomes of emergencies are related to both the patient and the nature of the event. The primary objective was to analyze the survival rate and factors associated with survival and also practical problems related to functioning of a CB system (CBS).

First prospective study on brain stem death and attitudes toward organ donation in India.

Organ donation following brain stem death is infrequent in India. There is no prospective study on prevalence of brain stem death and causes of non-donation. Consecutive patients admitted to intensive care unit from Sep 2006 to Sep 2008 were studied prospectively.
