Background: The aim of this research was to evaluate the impact of a nonlinear training program on visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure, as well as the response of biochemical parameters such as fasting plasma glucose (FPG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglycerides (TG).
Hypothesis: The nonlinear periodized program would produce greater improvements in outcomes than the linear periodized training program.
Study Design: Randomized cross-sectional design.
Smartphone applications (apps) are thought to be an adequate instructional strategy not only to improve the quality of the teaching in physical education (PE), but also to effectively promote leisure-time physical activity (PA) of adolescent students in this context. Although the use of smartphone apps has been generalized in PE, little is known about the curricular approach of smartphone apps to be implemented by teacher to teach specific curricular contents in PE lessons. Here we have obtained the analytical expression of the autocorrelation of the magnitude series (C_{|x|}) of a linear Gaussian noise as a function of its autocorrelation (C_{x}). For both, models and natural signals, the deviation of C_{|x|} from its expectation in linear Gaussian noises can be used as an index of nonlinearity that can be applied to relatively short records and does not require the presence of scaling in the time series under study.
