Incidentally Detected Solitary Metastatic Melanoma of the Spleen Without Known Primary: A Case Report.

Splenic masses could be secondary to infection or due to benign and malignant cancers. Due to its anatomy and microenvironment, the spleen is relatively protected from cancer spread. However, melanomas are one of the few cancers that metastasize to the spleen, but only 2% of these metastasize as solitary splenic masses.

Nosocomial infections pose an imminent challenge to hospitalized Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) patients due to complex interplay of dysregulated immune response combined with immunomodulator therapy. In the pre-pandemic era, immunomodulatory therapy has shown benefit in certain autoimmune conditions with untamed inflammatory response. An aerobic oxidation of alcohols into carbonyl synthons using bipyridyl-cinchona based palladium catalyst.

We have reported an aerobic oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to respective aldehydes and ketones using a bipyridyl-cinchona alkaloid based palladium catalytic system (PdAc-5) using oxygen at moderate pressure. The PdAc-5 catalyst was analysed using SEM, EDAX, and XPS analysis. The above catalytic system is used in experiments for different oxidation systems which include different solvents, additives, and bases which are cheap, robust, non-toxic, and commercially available on the industrial bench.

Heart failure in COVID-19 patients: Critical care experience.

Patients with heart failure (HF) may be at a higher risk of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection and may have a worse outcome due to their comorbid conditions and advanced age. In this narrative review, we aim to study the interaction between COVID-19 and HF from a critical care perspective. We performed a systematic search for studies that reported HF and critical care-related outcomes in COVID-19 patients in the PubMed and Medline databases.

Interference RNA in immune-mediated oral diseases - minireview.

Immune-mediated oral disorders are characterised by their chronicity, and some are refractory to treatment. Interference RNA (iRNA) has been implicated in the underlying mechanism of such immune-mediate oral and refractory inflammatory oral diseases. iRNA-based understanding of the mechanism in these diseases may help to produce non-invasive diagnostic methodologies and treatment modalities of such drug non-responsive diseases.
