Clinico-Dermoscopic Report of Molluscum Dermatitis: A Pearly Puzzle in Focus.

We report an 18-year-old male who presented with a two-month history of a lesion over his right forearm with a one-week history of sudden increase in size associated with pain. General and systemic examinations were normal. Dermatological examination revealed a single tender, well-defined, pearly white to erythematous, dome-shaped nodule of approximately 6mm x 5mm x 5mm with central umbilication and surrounding erythema.

Autosomal recessive hypophosphatemic rickets type 2 (ARHR2) is an uncommon hereditary form of rickets characterised by chronic renal phosphate loss and impaired bone mineralisation. This results from compound heterozygous or homozygous pathogenic variants in ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1 (ENPP1), a key producer of extracellular inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi) and an inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor23 (FGF23). ENPP1 deficiency impacts FGF23 and increases its activity.

Outcomes of non-penetrating deep sclerectomy combined with mitomycin C in advanced open-angle glaucoma in Indian eyes.

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of non-penetrating deep sclerectomy (NPDS) in advanced open-angle glaucoma patients.

Design: Retrospective observational study.

Methods: Forty-two eyes of 38 patients with advanced glaucoma who underwent NPDS surgery combined with mitomycin-C with or without phacoemulsification were evaluated for up to 12 months at a tertiary eye care center in South India.

Many adolescents with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) currently have to stop treatment with burosumab at the end of skeletal growth. We describe the experience of a cohort of adolescents with XLH before, during, and after stopping burosumab (median treatment duration 37.5 months).

The accumulation of double-stranded DNA within the cytosol triggers the activation of cytosolic DNA-sensing pathways, notably the Stimulator of Interferon Genes (STING) pathway. However, the precise role of STING in driving steroid hyporesponsiveness remains elusive and warrants further investigation.

Cladribine-Based Therapy for Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Child, Adolescent, and Early Young Adult Patients: The MD Anderson Cancer Center Experience.

Cladribine-based combination chemotherapy has demonstrated promising efficacy in patients with relapsed/refractory adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML), prompting its increased utilization in the frontline; in pediatrics, it has been typically reserved for relapsed or refractory cases. While fludarabine has been used more commonly as a purine analog in intensive regimens, cladribine may be an important alternative. We performed a retrospective study at MD Anderson Cancer Center from January 2015 to July 2023, which included patients aged 1-21 years with refractory or relapsed AML who received cladribine outside of a transplant conditioning.

Introduction: The prevalence of cardiovascular disease during pregnancy (cardiovascular disease diagnosed before, during or up to 6 months after childbirth) and the risk of adverse outcomes associated with it have not been previously described in Sweden. This study examined trends in prevalence of cardiovascular disease and its association with maternal and perinatal outcomes, overall and by timing of diagnosis in relation to pregnancy.

The primary aim of this study is to explore whether Hund's rule violation is observed in these molecules when their structures are distorted from or point group symmetries by vibronic coupling. Root-lesion nematodes (RLN) pose a significant threat to chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) by damaging the root system and causing up to 25% economic losses due to reduced yield. Worldwide commercially grown chickpea varieties lack significant genetic resistance to RLN, necessitating the identification of genetic variants contributing to natural resistance.

Costs and cost-effectiveness of the Kerala pilot screening programme for diabetic retinopathy in the public health system.

Background/objectives: The Government of Kerala initiated a pilot screening programme for diabetic retinopathy in 16 Family Health Centres in Thiruvananthapuram district in 2019 in collaboration with the ORNATE India project. The evaluation of this pilot included a study of its costs and cost-effectiveness to inform decisions about extending the programme throughout Kerala.

Subjects/methods: The participants comprise all 5307 people who were screened for diabetic retinopathy under the pilot programme for whom data could be collected.
