Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive tumor that has a poor prognosis with a median survival of 15 months with treatment and 3-4 months without treatment. Subsets of patients are found to survive longer than two years, some survivors lived more than 10 years, and rare cases survived 20 years or more with treatment. Better prognosis has been found to be associated with many factors.

Methodology: In this study, authors used the online available data sources of randomly selected 18 countries to figure out potential determinants of COVID-19 transmissibility and mortality. The studied variables were environmental factors (daily average temperature, daily humidity), socioeconomic attributes (population age structure, count and density, human development index, per capita income (PCI), gross domestic product, internet coverage) mobility trends and chronic diseases.
Objective: Little is known about how the achievement of sustained virological response (SVR) after treatment with direct-antiviral agents (DAAs) affects fibrosis and clinical outcomes in the long term. Our study aimed to evaluate the impact of achieving SVR on long-term changes in fibrosis and clinical outcomes in CHC patients treated with different DAAs-based regimens.
Methods: a prospective, 3-year follow-up study of 113 CHC patients who had achieved SVR after treatment with different DAAs-based regimens between January and June 2015 was conducted.
Challenging trunk neuromuscular control maximally using a seated balancing task is useful for unmasking impairments that may go unnoticed with traditional postural sway measures and appears to be safe to assess in healthy individuals. This study investigates whether the stability threshold, reflecting the upper limits in trunk neuromuscular control, is sensitive to pain and disability and is safe to assess in low back pain (LBP) patients. Seventy-nine subjects with non-specific LBP balanced on a robotic seat while rotational stiffness was gradually reduced.

While QbD models utilize experimentally designed settings for optimization of some quality attributes, these settings can also be utilized for chemometric prediction of the same attributes. We aimed to synchronize optimization of comparative dissolution results of carvedilol immediate release tablets with chemometric prediction of dissolution profile and content uniformity of the product.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFFibrosis is a common outcome of nearly all chronic diseases of liver that results in changes of its functions which requires medical attention. The current research aims to investigate the potential anti-fibrotic efficacy of Carvacrol against thioacetamide (TAA)-induced liver fibrosis in male rats using Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) as a reference anti-fibrotic product. Carvacrol (25 and 50 mg/kg) markedly declined TAA-increased serum liver enzymes; alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) as well as total bilirubin (TB) and direct bilirubin (DB) levels as well as increased levels of total protein (TP) and albumin.

However, flexible flatfoot tends to advance and deteriorate overtime and eventually resulting in significant impairments such as plantar fasciitis and patellofemoral pain syndrome.
Research Question: What is the effect of corrective exercises and neuromuscular electrical stimulation in children with flexible flatfeet?
Method: This is a randomized controlled trial with 72 children, seven to twelve yearsold, randomly assigned to either intervention or control group (36 children for each group) and engaged in a four months (3 sessions/week) of corrective exercise and neuromuscular electrical stimulation or corrective exercise and sham neuromuscular electrical stimulation respectively.
Background: Bladder cancer is considered heterogeneous diseases with two major subgroups: non-muscle- invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). It is a major healthcare problem, and it is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Genetic mutations are not only a cause for carcinogenesis but are also a way for treatment strategy.

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) remains a serious human rights violation and an important health concern during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The study aims to estimate the proportion of IPV among adult Arab women before and during the COVID-19 lockdown and to identify its possible predictors during the lockdown.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between April and June 2020 using an online questionnaire.
COVID-19, occurring due to SARS-COV-2 infection, is the most recent pandemic disease that has led to three million deaths at the time of writing. A great deal of effort has been directed towards altering the virus trajectory and/or managing the interactions of the virus with its subsequent targets in the human body; these interactions can lead to a chain reaction-like state manifested by a cytokine storm and progress to multiple organ failure. During cytokine storms the ratio of pro-inflammatory to anti-inflammatory mediators is generally increased, which contributes to the instigation of hyper-inflammation and confers advantages to the virus.

LUT shows significant anti-tumor activity in many cancer cells, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The most recent trend in pharmaceutical innovations is the application of phospholipid vesicles to improve the solubility of such hydrophobic drugs.

The transfer of Cs and Sr from fallout to plants was studied in two successive pot experiments. Five plant species (Oryza Sativa, Tritichum Vulgares, Vicia Faba, Sesamum Orientale and Trifolium Alexandrinum) were grown in pots containing sandy clay loam soil. For simulating foliar contamination, radioactive Cs and Sr solutions were sprayed once with different activity concentrations gently on the shooting system.

Background: Aberrant DNA methylation of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) gene has been found in many cancers. The object of this study was to evaluate the clinical impact of PTEN methylation as a prognostic marker in breast cancer. The study includes 153 newly diagnosed females, and they were divided according to their clinical diagnosis into breast cancer patients (n = 112) and females with benign breast lesion (n = 41).

The transfer of Cs and Sr from soil to different plants has been studied in two successive pot field-grown experiments. Five plant species (Oryza Sativa, Tritichum Vulgares, Vicia Faba, Sesamum Orientale and Trifolium Alexandrinum) were grown in pots with sandy clay loam soil contaminated with varying amounts of Cs or Sr. The absorption of the radioisotopes was measured in different parts of the plants and their activity concentration was significantly increased with increasing radioactivity of both radioisotopes in the soil.

Melatonin has been identified as a signal molecule that regulates plant responses to different abiotic and biotic stresses. Melatonin () and its precursor tryptophan () have a major role in improving plant stress tolerance to different environmental stresses such as water deficiency. The rapid increase in the Egyptian population caused insufficient protein sources, especially those of animal origin, in their diet.
