Context: Nanoparticles, owing to their smaller size, penetrate regions inaccessible to other delivery systems, such as periodontal pockets. Thus, the present study aimed to comparatively evaluate efficacy of 2% curcumin with nanocarrier and 1% chlorhexidine gel as a local drug delivery (LDD) in the treatment of periodontal pockets.
Materials And Methods: Forty-five chronic periodontitis patients with pocket depth 5-7 mm in two or more teeth were selected.
Aim: Periodontal disease is associated with gingival bleeding. Thus, the present study was aimed towards evaluating, whether the blood oozing during routine periodontal examination can be used for evaluating blood glucose levels.
Materials And Methods: A total of 100 patients reporting to Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, within the age group of 25-55 years were enrolled.
Background And Objectives: The pathogenesis of inflammatory periodontal diseases essentially involves degradation of extracellular matrix molecules, and collagen breakdown and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are proteinases primarily involved in this process. It is known that doxycycline downregulates MMP activity. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory effect and also downregulates MMP activity.

Also of significance are the expectations and demands of the patient from the prosthesis. The following case report discusses the rehabilitation of a complete edentulous mandibular arch with an implant retained mandibular over denture.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six measured samples were taken of each brand and placed on chocolate agar plates or in thioglycolate broth tubes and were incubated along with appropriate parallel controls. After incubation, colonies were enumerated and identified using standard microbiological methods.
