The monthly cost of a set of drugs available in India for the treatment of solid malignancies, approved after 2010 by the US FDA and the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) were calculated based on standard patient parameters.

Continuous evaluation of changes in the serum proteome from early to late stages of sepsis caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Serum protein profiles of patients with bacterial sepsis from the day of diagnosis until recovery/mortality were compared from early to late stages in response to severe sepsis using two dimensional electrophoresis. The proteins exhibiting changes during the course of sepsis (20‑28 day mortality) were selected and identified by matrix‑assisted laser desorption ionization‑time of flight‑tandem mass spectrometry. Among the proteins identified, haptoglobin (Hp), transthyretin (TTR), orosomucoid 1/α1 acid glycoprotein (ORM1), α1 antitrypsin (A1AT), serum amyloid A (SAA) and S100A9 exhibited differential expression patterns between survivors (S; n=6) and non‑survivors (NS; n=6), particularly during the early stages of sepsis.

Mutations in NOTCH1/FBXW7 activate NOTCH signaling and are of prognostic significance in patients with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL).

Paget's sarcoma: limb salvage by custom mega prosthesis: four case reports.

Of 4 Paget's sarcoma patients (age range, 55-68 years) underwent limb salvage surgery by custom mega prosthesis, 3 had lesions in the upper extremity and one in the proximal femur. Three of the patients were at stage IIB of the disease, according to Enneking's system of staging musculoskeletal tumours. All 4 patients underwent wide resection with a mean length of 152.

Limb salvage in aggressive and malignant tumours of the fibula.

We treated 25 patients with aggressive and malignant fibular tumours between April 1989 and May 2001. There were 11 osteosarcomas, seven Ewing's sarcoma and five chondrosarcomas. The tumours predominantly involved the upper one third; 16 were of Stage IIB.

Custom megaprosthetic replacement for proximal tibial tumours.

We analysed 133 patients treated with resection and endoprosthetic proximal tibial replacement from 1988 to 2000. Mean age was 22.3 years and osteosarcoma was the most common tumour.

Proximal femoral reconstruction with custom mega prosthesis.

Seventy-seven patients with proximal femoral tumours underwent limb salvage surgery with custom mega prostheses between July 1989 and January 2002. We describe 44 cases with a mean follow-up of 57.8 months.
