Cemento-ossifying fibroma is a benign fibro-osseous lesion arising from the periodontal ligament and has the potential to form cementum and bone in the periodontal ligament. Cemento-ossifying fibroma is a painless, pedunculated, or sessile, smooth exophytic growth arising attached to the gingival tissues. We present a case of cemento-ossifying fibroid epulis in the posterior maxilla attached to the interdental gingiva between the 26 and 27 region buccally in a 52-year-old female patient managed with surgical excision of the lesion, extraction of the involved teeth, curettage, and palatal obturator while under general anesthesia.

Also, the available objective predictors based on preoperative cross-sectional imaging were not prospectively studied.
Aim: To evaluate the accuracy of the pancreatic attenuation index (PAI) and pancreatic enhancement ratio (PER) for predicting CR-POPF following PD and its correlation with pancreatic fat fraction and fibrosis.
Objectives: Literature shows that the expression of various biomarkers in peri-miniscrew crevicular fluid (PMICF) is related to the stability of miniscrew implants (MSIs). The present study investigated the role and alterations in levels of circulating cell-free nucleic acids (cfNAs) in PMICF before and after orthodontic loading.
Material And Methods: This prospective study consisted of forty-six MSIs placed between the second premolar and first molar in the maxillary and mandibular arches.
Background: Micro-osteoperforation (MOP), a minimally invasive technique for accelerating the rate of orthodontic tooth movement has been research extensively, but with varied clinical results.
Objective: To compare the efficacy of one-time versus two-time micro-osteoperforation on the rate of maxillary canine retraction, its influence on anchorage loss, canine angulation and the levels of interleukin (IL-1β) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF).
Materials And Methods: The split-mouth study included 16 patients in which the left and right sides were randomly allocated to the control side (one-time MOP) and experimental side (two-time MOP).
Introduction: Unstable ankle injuries require anatomical reduction and stabilisation for optimal outcome. In spite of adequate care, a few patients have poor outcome. In this study, we assessed the risk factors that predict the clinical outcomes in surgically treated unstable ankle fractures.

Design: Double-blind, parallel group, randomized controlled trial.
Setting: The outpatient department of a tertiary hospital participants: first ever ischemic stroke patients (N=96) in the previous 15 days were recruited and were randomized after a run-in period of 75±7 days into real rTMS (n=47) and sham rTMS (n=49) groups.
Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR) exerted by tumor cells is majorly due to the overexpression of ATP Binding cassette transporters such as ABCB1/P-glycoprotein (P-gp). Annonaceous acetogenins (AGEs) exert anticancer activity by strongly inhibiting NADH oxidase of cancer cells. The present study aims at screening a potent MDR inhibitor among acetogenins from the plant .

Biofloc technology is increasingly becoming the most promising aquaculture tool especially in places where water is scarce and the land is very expensive. The dynamics of water quality, as well as plankton and microbial abundance, are collectively necessary for successful fish farming. The prospective use of jaggery as a potential carbon source and its influence on water quality, growth performance, innate immunity, serum bactericidal capacity, and disease resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila was investigated in Oreochromis niloticus.

Various strategies are underway to inhibit hmgb1 expression in cancer cells having considerable therapeutic value.
Objective: The present work involves selective transcriptional inhibition of the hmgb1 gene using selective DNA triplex structure-based gene technology.
Septal correction is the commonest surgery by rhinologists worldwide. We aimed at studying the comfort level of the patient with standard postoperative nasal packing with Merocel and placing quilting sutures in septum leaving the nose unpacked in the postoperative period. We conducted the study in the tertiary care centre enrolling 82 patients in a quasi-randomised method of odd and even numbers placing them in the nasal packing group and the quilting group respectively.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFFriedreich's ataxia (FRDA) is an autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expanded (GAA) trinucleotide repeat in the FXN gene. The extended repeats expansion results in reduced transcription and, thereby, decreased expression of the mitochondrial protein, frataxin. Given the ongoing drug trials, identification of reliable and easily accessible biomarkers for monitoring disease progression and therapeutic intervention is a foremost requirement.
