The high demand for renewable energy and increased biodiesel production lead to the surplus availability of crude glycerol. Due to the above reason, the bio-based value addition of crude glycerol into various bioproducts is investigated; among them, microbial lipids are attractive. The present study was dedicated to find the optimal glycerol concentration and carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio to produce maximum lipid using Yarrowia lipolytica SKY7.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Rajeswar Dayal Tyagi"

  • - Rajeswar Dayal Tyagi's research primarily focuses on the bioconversion of renewable resources, particularly the utilization of crude glycerol to produce microbial lipids, which are valuable for biodiesel production.
  • - In the study titled "Elucidating the Effect of Glycerol Concentration and C/N Ratio on Lipid Production Using Yarrowia lipolytica SKY7", Tyagi explores the impact of varying glycerol concentrations and carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratios on lipid yield.
  • - The findings indicate that optimizing glycerol concentration and C/N ratios is crucial for maximizing lipid production in Yarrowia lipolytica SKY7, thereby contributing to the sustainable production of biofuels.
